Fire 'Te if he doesn't land them both?  :dunno:

yeah, I'm really getting tired of his underwood-ish recruiting.  And I'm only kidding a little.

Yeah, had long phone conversation with an EMAW last night involving a lot of "Has 'Te run his course?" type discussion.

dumbass hs coaches.

Quote
Quinn Cook (2011 DC Assault 16-U) , a talented 6-foot point guard, has around seven offers, but he won't know who they are from until DeMatha head coach Mike Jones tells him after the school year. Cook does, however, know that Georgetown, North Carolina, Kansas State, Ohio State, Indiana and Florida are recruiting him.

I'm looking at NC State, Notre Dame, Indiana, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgetown, Kansas State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Duke a little bit. There's a couple more. I've just unofficially visited Georgetown.

looking forward to seeing some qcook quotes during/following the classic.  think he'll be a hard pull, seems like an e'coaster.  but he's the type of recruit hill has to get if he wants to keep making 400+.

Agreed.  I would go so far as to say without a 5 star/4 star combo in '11 (a la Beasley/Sutton & Judge/McGruder) He needs to be penalized some dough.

...and yes I do think Cook/Goodman could be that type of combo.

Quinn Cook makes the ESPN super 60 for '11 (#50)

http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/espnu100?&season=2011&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncb%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fespnu100%3f%26season%3d2011

imo, just from size, comments on his play, and schools recruiting him, he's likely to end up in the 20-40 range.  he'd be an absolutely huge get.

Exactly where I was projecting.  Low 5-star/high 4-star range.  Must get for Hill.  Must.

We are interested in a player named John Johnson from Girard College (which is a high school...very confusing) in the Philadelphia area.

Generally the major recruiting services know about guys from Philadelphia with schools like: Villanova, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Penn State, UCLA, Kansas, Clemson, Kansas State, Marquette, Notre Dame, and Arizona recruiting them.  Not saying this kid is a liar, but sounds kinda "Kevin Hart-ish" at this point. We'll see.   :-X

“Nobody plays harder than Kansas State.  Bilas said that to me in person,” Martin said. Now, does that mean that I’m happy every day?  No, because it’s our job to continue to get those guys to continue to grow.”

hmmm.  I stand corrected.  Did a search for "Johnson" in 2010 and I didn't see him pop up.

he's a 2011.  so it isn't that odd that the recrutiing services don't have much on him.

Right behind or may alongside Beal, Cook is the top shooter at the trials. He also did an excellent job passing the ball on the fastbreak.

more cook love.  beal also continues to impress.

Quote
Cook has excelled at the point.
Quinn Cook (2011)- Outside of Anthony Wroten Jr. who cannot compete with the team in Argentina due to school, Cook has established himself as the top point guard at the trials. A dangerous shooter from behind the arc, Cook also navigated ball screen situations with precision, scoring in the midrange with a nifty floater while also finding shooters.

more Cook love:

Quote
Quinn Cook (6-0, 165, PG)
2011, Hyattsville, Md./ Dematha

Cook was one of the major standouts due to his feathery shooting touch and surprisingly solid point guard play. He doesn't possess the ideal size for the Division I level, but he certainly has the game for the highest level. Prior to seeing him at the trials, I envisioned Cook as an undersized 2-guard, but he definitely showed here that point guard is his projected position at the next level. The point guard crop wasn't special, with the exception of Anthony Wroten Jr., but Cook was the best combination of scorer/playmaker of the bunch. Besides his tremendous shooting touch, Cook changes speed very well and threw some dynamite passes in transition. In addition, he executed the pick-n-roll very well and facilitated the offense on a high-level. When he didn't dish off to his teammates he has an innate ability to score amongst the bigs, including a soft floater.

Ellis:

Quote
Class of 2012 prospect Perry Ellis is a 6-8 skilled 4-man out of Wichita, Kan./ Wichita Heights. His frame and demeanor reminds me of a young Royce White (incoming freshman at Minnesota). He does a solid job converting around the paint area (uses his body well) and he can stick the jump shot at the elbow, but his frame doesn't exactly scream upside.

i don't think we're really recruiting ellis.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Stewart with Huggins: Limestone junior guard Donivine Stewart won't be with his team at Richwoods this weekend because he'll be attending Bob Huggins' West Virginia University Elite Camp.

West Virginia and Illinois are his two scholarship offers at this point, Stewart said this week.

"I've got a big schedule coming up (with the All Iowa Attack AAU team and Limestone in team camps)," he said. "So I'm just trying to play my hardest and hopefully get a couple more offers before the summer ends."

Stewart played in the Kansas State Elite Camp last weekend. The Wildcats are among a group of majors that are strongly recruiting the 5-foot-10 point guard. Iowa and Wisconsin also are in the mix.

"Kansas State went real good," Stewart said. "Nice coaching staff, nice players overall."

Following the West Virginia camp, Stewart will join his Limestone teammates for a team camp at Ohio State.

"I'm just working this summer on leading my team, getting more athletic and on my overall game," he said.

I think that the "unknown" PG who went head to head with Ross-Miller was Stewart.

Andrew Jordan blurb

Quote
PEORIA —

Andrew Jordan's first basketball competition for Manual couldn't have sweeter.

The former Woodruff forward, who transferred to Manual in March, was a force on the boards and at blocking shots and scored 33 in the Rams' first two games Saturday at the 11th annual Richwoods Shootout.

Jordan led Manual to blowout victories over Metamora (64-26) and Bloomington (36-16).

"I was confident and it went better than I thought it would," the 6-foot-5 incoming junior said. "I see myself getting better under Coach (Derrick) Booth. Defense is what I really need to work on, and I'm improving. I've learned as much in open gym (in recent weeks) as I learned in my two years at Woodruff."

Jordan hasn't yet received any college offers but has fielded strong interest from Kansas State and DePaul, among others. He and Donivine Stewart of Limestone attended the K-State elite camp last weekend.

"The coaches I've talked to told me my freshman year was a blast, but my sophomore year was inconsistent," he said. "So this year I'm going to be consistent. And I'm just coming off the honor roll, and I'm proud about that."

Said Booth: "Andrew's been a pleasant asset for us on and off the court. He's coachable and wants to get better. He'll have to help us with scoring and rebounding."

We seem to be recruiting the Peoria area a lot lately.

Glaze is growing on me.  Still don't like him as much as Sys, but wouldn't be completely disappointed with an offer.

Quote
Grandy Glaze (6-foot-4.5, 8-foot-5.5) – You certainly can't judge Glaze's game by his physical measurements. Although he is significantly undersized, Glaze has exceptional strength and as good a motor as you'll find in a big man. Constantly on the attack, Glaze scores in traffic and rebounds in a crowd. His game won't be for every program, but there is likely a high major program who will be happy to take a chance on an undersized warrior.

There were plenty of Judge/KSU mentions in the summer before he committed.  It was just quiet for a while before "madness" or whatever.
