I got the Amazon kindle cover with the built in light about 10 days ago.  Works very well.  It uses the battery of the kindle for power but I still have half battery and have never charged the thing.

Can a guy bbs from a kindle?

Also, Panj, how is the color nook as far as glare goes on the eyes?

Not bad thus far.  Of course, I haven't sat down and done any hard core reading for a long period of time.  You can adjust the brightness and drag it down if it's too much.  I already did that as a precautionary measure.

Battery life thus far is meh.

I have yet to charge my kindle and still show half battery.  But, you really can't compare the kindle to the nook color as it's not really an ereader.

Yeah, I know.  You were right about the battery.  Confirming that while there are some cool things about the Nook Color, a week in, the battery life could end up being an annoyance and a reason to strongly consider Kindle.

Also, as mentioned earlier, it is a little heavy.  It hasn't really bothered me yet, but it's not like you can wave the thing around while you drink a cup of coffee.

Just get the B&W nook so your account can transfer to it.

My kindle arrives on Wednesday.  My first purchase is going to be me dipping my toe into the fantasy genre for the first time....Game of Thrones.  :ohno:

Really need to browse their free stuff.  If you like any classics, they have a lot.

When I contacted Amazon and ordered the Kindle SD edition, this is what came with mine.  Like it so far.

Wow.  Do you pull it down using your kindle, or is there a "process"

I read that there is a prog that can convert pub library books to Kindle format from EBPU(or whatever the eff it is).

Supposedly, the format compatibility is the big knock on the kindle vs the nook.  The above would be nice.

I need to read about 8 books before I need to worry about this, though.

Anyone do this yet?

Do you have isohunt?  If not, download that.  Then hit this link:

http://www.kickasstorrents.com/2-500-retail-quality-ebooks-for-kindle-mobi-t4908703.html

You can download as much or as little as you want.

Then, attach the files to an email and mail them to you kindle email account (you will get this when you do your initial kindle setup).  It will then be there.  You can only email (I think) 25 per email or they kick it back to you.  Pretty easy.

guys if you just turn your calculator upside down you can read it similar to a kindle but with more power under the hood.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I used the same Kindle account as my mom and brother, so we don't have to worry about the 14-day sharing limit.
