Have to agree with 8MP, at least as far as Minnesota goes. Minnie has always been an extraordinarily cyclical team, and they're in a downward spiral. Whether they lose 105 is another question, but they'll lose a bunch. I think this will be Gardenhire's last year. Houston? Big losers this year, also.

I've been a Twins for for life and I would be amazed if the let Gardy go before he retired. The odds of them hiring someone better are very slim, and they're a very loyal franchise. Gardy was Kellys 3rd base coach, so they clearly like stability.

It sounds like most people currently involved with the league are okay with it. Teams are giving pitchers ridiculous contracts lately, the DH gives aging players extra years, the whole interleague play deal... I'd be okay either way with it but I think it needs to be universal and watching a pitcher try to hit isn't nearly as fun as watching a dude like Thome swing for the fences. Just my two cents though.

Its a weird deal, very complex. Situ lefties will always have a job, d replacements may actually become more valuable. Pinch guys are typically someone that plays a few positions anyway. Just my thoughts.

I prefer pitchers batting because I really like watching all of the substitutions. It makes for a better game.
