Buster Ohleny said we only need our starters to go 5 innings because our bullpen is so good. Or something like that. So, there's that. Also, Perez was called back up to the majors. I think if we can average +6 runs per game, we should be fine.

So far, so good. But here’s the thing: as Sam Mellinger pointed out a few days ago, the bullpen isn’t only effective – it’s also prolific. The Royals are on pace to get more innings from relief pitchers than any other team in baseball history.
That really is astounding. I mean any time you hear "...in baseball history" it's pretty amazing given the amount of time and games played in baseball history. Plus for an AL team it's even more amazing.

I think the Royals may just have a respect problem up and down.it wasn't me. never wanted him. never wanted to keep him. i wanted to keep melky. frenchy was passable last year, but this year he's a solidly below average right fielder. his good guy/clubhouse leader rep seems to hold sway with just about everybody though. he's the 2nd highest paid player on the team, batting 5th everyday(ahead of moose), blocking a top 5 in all of baseball prospect and leading the club in all star votes all while completely sucking a$$. man i love being a royals fan.
