That really is astounding. I mean any time you hear "...in baseball history" it's pretty amazing given the amount of time and games played in baseball history. Plus for an AL team it's even more amazing.

i went and checked the mellinger article. previous record is 601 1/3rd. at the time of the article (6/9) royals were on pace for 631. blowing right by it.

I had a nice long post written out about why the Royals bullpen pitching so many innings wasn't really all that bad... then this happened. Mazzaro, Hochaver, etc... the Royals should just rename every starting pitcher left on their roster Kyle Davies.

Solid post here.

I saw the score when it was 10-1 and thought, "yeah well, did we expect anything else?"

Then I noticed it was just in the 2nd....and I laughed.

Worst home record in the MLB.

How does any organization keep a manager and a GM with a home record like that?

4-14 in home weekend series is a great way to kill fans.

If Glass would sell the team I'm ok with Dayton staying. If Glass keeps the team I'd like to see them go a different direction. Moore has done a decent job drafting, but his track record with minor trades and signings is below average which you can't really have if the owner isn't willing to spend money.

If the Royals had an owner willing to spend money on quality FA or take chances on going after big names on the trade market I'd be interested to see what Moore could do.

I think Dayton has done a wonderful job with the farm system and he would probably be a whole lot better at everything else if Glass were willing to spend money.

Great game by Hoch. Almost makes up for his crap outings early in the season.

Yes. I'm starting to warn to Hoch. He's probably our best pitcher right now.

For the first time in a really long time I felt like the Royals actually wanted to kick the crap out of someone. It felt good. Ned must have put a jolt into them after that Cards series. Good for Hoch, good for the Royals.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

KITN today

I think the rays will just be happy to get out of KC without having a heat stroke.
