Taking the ASG vote lead has clearly inspired Omar.

Not worried.

Me neither.

Yeah, but still not good for the bull pen to give up runs. At least we had the game easily, especially yesterday.

Me neither.

2 of those 3 hits were on very good pitches.

Saw we have our largest division lead since 2003. We should be encouraged that Omar and Rios both look so much better at the plate.

I think we're all going to look back in 5 or 6 years and realize we didn't appreciate the d of Gordon, Cain, and Escobar enough. They are amazing.

Moose has been so damn good guys.

70 hits, 27 strikeouts. Andy suggested today on his KC Star chat that he is the best option for a leadoff hitter.

Moose has flourished in the 2 spot. That's where he should stay. Andy may have a point but there's no need to make such a move now.

Understood. I'd love to hear Ned's take on Andy's analysis. Those exchanges are always good.

I wish this wasn't true, but the last McClatchey writer to write anything intelligent about the Royals was Joe Posnaski.

Esky still being the leadoff hitter is what is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!). I was much more frustrated at the beginning of the year when Ned announced that Esky was hitting leadoff than I was when he announced that Moose was hitting second. Alex is by far the best leadoff candidate on this team. He has better power, average, and discipline at that spot than any other spot in the lineup (not to mention it's where he has the most experience). Yet, Ned refuses to look at that one spot in the order objectively and it's infuriating. Ned has grown on me, but batting Esky at leadoff over Gordo should actually be a fireable offense if we were to miss the playoffs this year.
