It's getting kind of tiring having players miss long stretches of baseball because pitchers keep throwing at them and then watching MLB not only do nothing about it, but suspend our players for no reason at all.

I think Herrera's 5 game suspension is pretty unreasonable, considering the league standard is no suspension and you get to stay in the game when a Royals player gets hit in the face. Herrera didn't even hit anyone. The ball clearly slipped on that pitch, so I'm not sure how you can even judge intent.

I don't care about the lack of outrage so much as the Royals players getting suspended for doing the same thing other players seem to be able to do without penalty. We are getting hit by 0.91 pitches per game, so apparently throwing at the other team isn't usually a big deal.

He throws like 80mph, I'm not sure it's a huge concern.

is it the speed of the throw or the effort of it that matters? like if young throws 80 mph with 100% effort is that 100% or 80% as tiring as ventura throwing 100 mph with 100% effort?

maybe it's not even a linear scale.
