young can't be fully stretched out, right?  how long can he go tonight, maybe 60-70 pitches?

i'd guess 70ish might be the magical pitch count. no idea though.

I wouldn't go more than 70-80 pitches with Young unless he's still perfect at that point.

If we lose the division to these scrubs heads should roll.

well we're almost halfway through the game with some guy we picked up off the scrap heap for a bag of balls and those dorks still don't have one freaking hit. so just between, you and i and the foul pole, i can't imagine we have anything to worry about.

Great job Young! Maybe one more if it goes clean, then time to bring out the all star parade from the pen

they didn't score (lol @ kk), but they cost him at least inning with all those pitches.  good test for the bullpen depth today.  great that duffy let them rest yesterday.

I can't remember the last time a team was this good at basically every major facet of the game. Hitting, power, speed, defense, starting pitching, bullpen. It doesn't matter. Kansas City is at the top or very near it everywhere.

And they're not even full strength.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Anyone ready to jump on the "Chris Young to the Rotation" bandwagon?

Looks like some people are jumping on, good for you guys. You won't regret this decision.

I said several things to the contrary today, but I'm warming.

i'd just use him more innings out of the pen.  like maybe space vargas and guthrie out and have young piggybacking each for like 2-3 planned innings.

maybe that's not practical.  maybe more like piggyback him just on guthrie, so you're planning guthrie 4-5 innings and then young 2-3.  and he could still maybe pitch an inning midway between guthrie starts.

Since he's more effective than Guthrie, he should probably just pitch instead of him.

I feel confident about today and tomorrow.  Sunday will be tough as both pitchers are garbage and the KC bullpen is light years ahead of detroit's.

OMFG

Herrera is throwing like crap, which is 100% not my fault. Crumbling under the pressure of a possible staff no hitter is pretty pud.
