Let's just make Duff healthy over the next few days

this thing with him is the weirdest thing.  is it just that the local and national medias are incompetent and don't ask about him or are the royals being super sketchy about what is going on?  i think it's the latter.

@theprogramkc: Yost...Shields is definitely going game 1. Ventura and Guthrie will be in there. We havent decided on Vargas or Duffy.

A couple of things here. Ned was on 810 this morning. Said Duffy is 100%, but he just liked him in case Vargas got in trouble. He thought our mathcups with the Angels made more sense with him being the long relief guy. 2. He announced Shields would be a game 1 guy, but doesn't know after that. He said Guthrie and Ventura will definitely make starts, but the 4th guy is down to Vargas or Duffy based off if we need them from the pen in the first 3 games.

If Duffy is 100% and you start Guthrie instead you should be fired on the spot.  Or am I wrong?

I get it. We wanna throw our studs, but I think he's also nervous one of these guys are going to crap the bed underneath the spot light. I'm ok with having a safety plan for Vargas/Guthrie. They get 2 runs on them early, bring in Duffy and coast it out. Who do you put in if Duffy/Ventura crap the bed early? Some ole balls who throws really slow? It kinda makes sense to me.

You can bring in Guthrie or Vargus the same way you would Duffy. Duffy has been unquestionably better this year, and saving him for long relief in a game that we would be likely to have already lost is insanity.

finnegan has some hairs on his chinnegan, when he pitches for the Royals, they winnegan!

It means Ned doesn't want to specify who will start which game.

Yeah, let's not start apologizing for Ned's fuckups before they happen. That would be a monumental mistake, and he should take an enormous amount of heat if that scenario played out.

So when MysStarter goes 3.1, 8 H, 4 R,  we bring in Finnegan thru the 5th or 6th, then HDH if it's close, Collins/Frasor if not
