am i missing something? it would be four days rest.

Game 1 is Friday, Game 4 is Tuesday. Sat, Sun, Monday count as rest days. That's 3 days rest. Game 7 would be Saturday, Wed, Thurs, Fri would be 3 more rest days.

Ned needs to treat shields like bill treated Klein.  You throw him until his rough ridin' arm falls off.

finnegan can absolutely start a game if needed. he's got the biggest balls on the team.

get on board the finnegan train guys. it's the best ride in town.

finnegan isn't stretched out is he?  he can't be, he's been pitching relief for over a month.

I'd rather start Shields on short rest with Finn waiting at the first sign of trouble than start Finn for the first time in the ALCS

With Finn, Ned can now tell his starters to sell out and get 5 good innings. 6, 7, 8, and 9 are covered. Love Finn, I just don't think he's ready for a start yet, plus you lose one of your best pen guys.

A healthy Duff would be really nice. Hopefully he throws a couple simulated innings and they declare him good to go.

Instead of paying big $ for good starters what if we just signed 9 really good relievers to work each inning?  We already have 4.  #sabermetrics?

My guess

Game 1 Shields
Game 2 Vargas
Game 3 Ventura
Game 4 Guthrie
Game 5* Shields (normal rest)
Game 6* Duffy
game 7* Vargas/Ventura (whoever pitches better first time around)

* -  LOL these games won't be needed

Baltimore Orioles message boards don't think much of our squad  :frown:
