So when MysStarter goes 3.1, 8 H, 4 R, we bring in Finnegan thru the 5th or 6th, then HDH if it's close, Collins/Frasor if not
To win the 2014 World Series52 Washington Nationals +800 54 LA Dodgers +550 55 Baltimore Orioles +225 56 St. Louis Cardinals +450 59 Kansas City Royals +350 60 San Francisco Giants +600
ok that's not as good once you realize both NLDS are still going on BUT STILL
what do those numbers even mean
and once the NL division series are over we're going to be underdogs to both of those teams as well
A couple of things here. Ned was on 810 this morning. Said Duffy is 100%, but he just liked him in case Vargas got in trouble. He thought our mathcups with the Angels made more sense with him being the long relief guy. 2. He announced Shields would be a game 1 guy, but doesn't know after that. He said Guthrie and Ventura will definitely make starts, but the 4th guy is down to Vargas or Duffy based off if we need them from the pen in the first 3 games.
Ned just told Nate Bukaty he's going Shields/Ventura in Baltimore.
Ventura went 1-1 with a 1.26 ERA in 14 1/3 innings in two starts against the Orioles this season. Also, Ventura surrendered fewer home runs this season (14) than any of the Royals starters except Danny Duffy.
Ned just told Nate Bukaty he's going Shields/Ventura in Baltimore. Also, only 11 pitchers, so I'd imagine the roster will be:Pitchers:ShieldsVenturaDuffy VargasGuthrieDavisFinneganHerreraHollandFrasorCollinsPosition Players:SalvyKratzHosInfanteMooseEscobarBillyColonGordonDysonCainAokiWillinghamGoreIbanez/Nix are left off. JMHO
Collins makes me nervous but he'll likely stay on the roster.
btw, same reaction on guthrie as vargas. it's fine to pitch them. deliberately pitching either of them at camden (twice!) instead of kauffman when they could use ventura in the camden games is simply Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).
I mean, if we go to Baltimore and come home behind 0-2, I think we can all live with it if Yordano was the guy on the mound for game 2. I mean, look at Vargas's starts in September. The game in Anaheim WAS the outlier, and should not be expected to happen again. If we lose, we lose, but I want them to have to beat our best guys. http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/6352/jason-vargas
