I don't have time to look this up right now, but I bet 54 home runs in one game might be a record.

Right?  And here all these people are about to give up on them!  All I'm saying is lets wait and see if they hit 54 home runs.

what a season it would be to have 54 homers every 5th game, but also you only win 1 of the other 4, so you finish the season whatever the equivalent of 2-3 is (mocat?), but you pretty much smashed every offensive record in the game

Would take that season

the record for most combined HRs in a game is 12. it has happened twice, but get this you guys, BOTH times it was the Chicago White Sox vs the Detroit Tigers, but get this you guys, one game was in Chicago and the other game was in Detroit

I would take that for a year or two, but given time, I think my standards would adjust and I'd start demanding that the team either start hitting 55 homers or winning enough games to make the playoffs.

Ok, forgive my ignorance, as I am not a true Royals fan.....I guess cause I know they will end up being, you know, the Royals.......but, wasn't last year like one of the worst as far as number of HR's they hit for the year???

So, they did nothing over the offseason to improve their chances at more dingers, other than not resign that Maxwell guy, you seemed to hit like grand slams and stuff, and to also keep Billy B., for what just to hit into some double plays and stuff? :runaway: :buh-bye:

FACT: Of all the current MLB teams, the Royals' team record for most HRs in a season is the lowest in all of baseball. 168.

They resigned Maxwell to a one-year deal.  I agree with everything else in this post.

So at what point do they start looking at doing something with Moustakas?  :impatient: 40 ABs? 50 ABs? His leash has to be a lot shorter this year than last, right? They just can't expect to make the playoffs if Escobar and Moustakas perform the same as last year. It doesn't look like there's much help in 'maha http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=3B&sid=t541&t=p_pbp&pid=517370

Hud got pretty excited about the long fly Moose hit to left center, said he thinks Moose is on the verge. I'm not so sure. Seems we've seen this before.

Infante hit in the jaw :sdeek:

If Infante is out for any considerable length of time, I suspect they'll bring up Gio from Omaha...even Danny V says he's not all that comfortable with 2B.

Infante was the emergency shortstop. Gio can't play short. It'll be Colon.

If Maxwell hadn't hit that grand slam (probably my favorite Royals moment of all time btw), would anyone have given if eff if we'd resigned him, let alone be calling for him to replace a guy who is statistically a top 10 Royals player of all time?

Infante has started every game this season at 2B.

Yeah, no crap. Jordy started every game at WR for the Packers and was emergency qb. We have an emergency catcher when we pinch run for Sal. This is super common.

We're not arguing who is going to start at 2nd. We're arguing which utility infielder we'll call up.
