We're not arguing who is going to start at 2nd. We're arguing which utility infielder we'll call up.

I suppose it could be Colon, primarily because Gio has had so many other chances in the bigs and has little, if any, time at SS.

We need Danny at third full-time.

Moustakas is hitless again...

if the royals hit 0 home runs tonight (most likely scenario), they will be on pace for 0 home runs on the season.

If Maxwell hadn't hit that grand slam (probably my favorite Royals moment of all time btw), would anyone have given if eff if we'd resigned him, let alone be calling for him to replace a guy who is statistically a top 10 Royals player of all time?

Maxwell was great pretty much the entire time he was a Royal last season. I was glad to see him re-signed. I think the Royals should move Gordon to 3rd and put Maxwell at right field. Move Aoki to left.

No

I haven't seen a single good reason not to.

I'm sure his .505 SLG last year for the Royals was just an aberration, so we should definitely not find out, especially since everybody else on the roster is just mashing it right now

Even if he's only half as good as he was last year, he's still infinitely better than Moustakas has been so far this year.

5 HRs in 97 at bats just seems like unsustainable. He needs more time on the bench to figure out his sustainable swing.

Honestly I would rather have a guy Adam Dunning for the fences and striking out every other AB, than a guy Billy Butlering for the gap between 3rd and shortstop and GIDPing his fat face off every other AB.

Isn't Alex Gordon in left field because "you can't bat 7th and play 3rd base?"

I'd guess it has more to do with his multiple gold gloves in left field

I am not BID. I want the best opportunity for some power in a lineup where we depend on Billy for power, and he is simply not delivering, and hasn't since 2012. Not saying he won't later this year, but figure out a way for Maxwell to get in there, please. And I don't think that means move Alex to 3rd. I hate that idea.

He never would have been in left field in the first place if he hadn't struggled at the plate so much when he was at third. If the price of getting a .000 third baseman out of the lineup is removing a gold glove from left field, that's worth it. It's not like it would have to be permanent.

Are you saying we should get Butler out of the lineup? That would be a zero sum at best, and probably a net negative.

hey, guy, you don't take your rough ridin' two time gold glove left fielder out of left field because you need a third baseman and he has played third before. you don't move gold gloves unless Derek jeter is playing their position. YOU JUST DONT DO IT.

I think the pitchers were just lobbing him meatballs during spring training to eff with him. Sort of like in the movies where the hot guy tells the dorky girl he wants to date her only to humiliate her later. MLB players can be such jerks sometimes.

im all for giving maxwell some more ABs but hes not our DH and we don't need to make any drastic changes. we have 3 losses this season to verlander, sherzer and sale. calm down... were fine.

How do people expect to contend for the playoffs while not being able to beat any good pitchers?
