Publicly lashing out because they didn't think Taryn played enough. As if playing her more minutes would have changed the outcome. They both have been crashing out, the last two seasons, on twitter like this every time they don't think she plays enough or the team loses, it's embarrassing.

The way they behave in the replies is also appalling. They are constantly shïtposting and they're saying things that are likely offensive to her teammates, it's completely unnecessary.

I don't know how her teammates or coaches view their behavior. I do know for an absolute A+ source fact, that one of the prominent players parents are well aware of their act on twitter and they aren't happy about it, at all. Kevin is way too old to be acting like this. The other brother may as well be 16 years old, he seems to have the mental maturity and language of a middle schooler.

Those aren't her brothers. Kevin is her uncle (dad's brother), and I have no idea who Riley Sides is. A cousin I'm guessing?

Good to know they're at least not immediate, it's still a poor reflection on her, unfortunately. The parent who brought them to my attention last season thought they were brothers, hopefully that's info and been cleaned up, or the players don't care enough to talk to her about it so they're simply ignoring it. Second scenario probably isn't the best. I'm pretty surprised that Kevin is comfortable enough tweeting the way he does given his employer which he has in his bio while using his government name, seems unnecessarily risky.

Looking Back 35 Years: Almena-Northern Valley won the 1990 1A boys state basketball championship at FHSU with a 60-58 victory over Caldwell in the championship. NV finished with a 23-3 record under head coach Doug Reusink and assistant coach Chuck Fessenden. They defeated Waverly 71-66 in the semifinals and Hanston 85-75 in the first round. The Huskies would also win the title with star players Keith and Kevin Sides, a very well known sports family over the years at NV and Phillipsburg, to go back to back the following year (1991) with a 27-0 record. NV has four state titles as a school in boys basketball (1986, 1990, 1991, 2018). Three of the titles were under Reusink (1986, 1990, 1991) and the 2018 title under Fessenden. #sportsinkansas

you can’t go looking for crap and then complain when you find it.

taryn’s family is taryn’s problem.  they aren’t her teammate’s problem or anyone else’s.  no reason to act surprised when small town hayseeds act like small town hayseeds.

an easy solution to avoid it is to leave twitter and no longer support people like elon musk whom you hopefully disagree with similarly as you do the Sides klan.

I'm assuming you're speaking generally and not specifically here. I personally don't give a crap about what they tweet. I do mildly care that they were brought to my attention last season by the parent of one of the players. She appears to be a sweetheart and gets along with her teammates just fine. Her having family members who routinely flip out on the head coach and ranting about gays and dei is potentially an unnecessary distraction. I do know there's a specific parent who's also prone to twitter meltdowns and the coaches 100% know about it but they just roll their eyes about it.

Fading down the stretch (just like last year).

Iowa State has zero Q1 wins this year, but I'm a bit nervous that they might get their first on Sunday.

mittie’s teams seem to lack the confidence that winning teams should have.  seems to easy for other teams to impose their will.

really, i’m trying to make sense of why tonight continues to happen

I think we just don't handle physicality well. If you look at the losses over the past few years, most have been against teams that pushed us around.

You can compare that to the wins against Iowa - obviously a very good team both years we beat them, but certainly not physical. We can play that game, but when defenders pressure, hand check, body up, etc., we just don't consistently respond well to that.

This was the only game I've watched so far this year but Taryn Sides definitely does not seem soft.  Taylor seemed to talk a Coleman Hawkins level of crap tho.

It's going to come down to how much value the committee places in the NET. If you look at that, even after getting soundly beaten by Baylor, we're still No. 7, which would obviously be a No. 2 seed.

But, if you look closely, our NET is heavily influenced by us trouncing some decent teams on the road. And we're a paltry 2-4 in Q1 games. You have to go to No. 28 Georgia Tech to find another team with fewer than 2 Q1 wins (No. 13 WVU, No. 19 Ohio State and No. 23 Florida State also have 2 - everyone else has 3+ and most teams in contention to host 1st-2nd rounds have 5+).

The bracket prognosticators seem to think our high NET won't be as influential as most have us as a 4 already (despite that high NET ranking).

Frankly, based on what this team has done on the court, it's a tough argument that they deserve a 4 seed or higher. You can play the "what if" game about Yokie, but based on what happened vs. KU and despite the announcement that she'll be back for the NCAA tourney, I'm not optimistic she'll be anywhere near 100 percent.

The most recent top 16 reveal was on Sunday and we were 15th, so no, they aren't considering our NET, which is slightly frustrating because they generally religiously follow the NET. 'Clams is right that we're probably a 5 now. My guess is that right now the 4s are Ohio State, Baylor, NCSU, and OU. The 5s are Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan State, and us. We absolutely have to win on Sunday and have to win the quarterfinal game at the tournament to be in the conversation, that would give us 2 more Q1 wins. It wouldn't hurt for Baylor to lose a couple, the gaggle of SEC teams will knock each other around to the point where we should have at least one spot on the 4 line available if we can capitalize on it.

Still at No. 15 as of yesterday (with Baylor outside the top 16).

I don't agree with it, but good for us...
