This would be good. unless HCIW

dream staff...

Leech HC, Mangino OC, Levitt DC

MCCMW
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It would be really good as long as he's not HCIW.

I'd be okay with him as headcoach.  But I'm also a maniac, so take that fwiw.

This.

I feel like all of us in the student/recently graduated category are all for this, and the older folk are not. Is there something we don't know? Is he too young and hip for a conservative, Snyder-worshiping K-State?

I think we can all conclude that this is reliable and Leavitt is our new Co-D Coordinator.  Congrat's Jim!
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

I feel like it's the opposite of that.

I'd a old guy and I would love to have him.  He would have solid Florida recruiting ties, he's got fire and he knows defense.  He's like a less Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) Bo Pellini.

When he was here before, we actually got guys from Florida like Darren Howard.

We could do a whole lot worse and we have for the last 6 years.

Being of the older set, I would take JL in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd let you slob his knob, if it would help.

He has "baggage" of the FP, TC etc. variety that just doesn't play well with our salt of the earth fans, you know, morons.

As long as we get rid of Cosh.

I'm all for it, if just to be free from the Cosh, and to see that Snyd's could actually make a positive move w/ the staff. HCIW? Verdict is still out on that one.  :users:

Here is the deal, Wefald, Krause, and Weiser screwed up the first time not because Prince was a complete asshat, but because he wasn't from the "Snyder Tree"  and not powerespect approved.

Prince never had full support of the powerespect fan base because he was not part of the "Snyder Tree".  Some in the powerespect fan base claim that they could recognize Prince's faults, but it was primarily because he was not from the "Snyder Tree".
Now for Prince, that was a good thing because he had no business being a BCS head coach and we were able to get rid of him relatively fast.  However, since we did not hire outside the "Snyder Tree" after Prince (we hired the "Snyder family tree root"), the pressure will be to hire from the "Snyder Tree".

So that leaves the following:
Bob Stoops       - Not leaving OU
Mike Stoops      - Not leaving Arizona
Dimel/Del Miller - God no!! and I think most PowerTards agree.
Venables          - Some deep, dark secret preventing this.
Mangino           -  Coached at KU so he is tainted for life with PowerTards(I personally think he would be great).
Leavitt             - No current job, powerespect approved, better than most, worse than a few.

So unfortunately, to get the full support of the Tards we have to hire someone from the "Tree".  So that person will either fail and we'll be able to hire outside the tree or succeed and we will all be happy.

This is the path  Wefald and Co. have put us on.

Dude did a pretty damn good job @ USF.  Unless we could somehow (we can't) get GP, Leavitt is likely the best HC we could get, and probably by a fair margin.  We're not getting a Miles or a Richt, so just stop kidding/torturing yourselves.  Leavitt would be a fantastic hire as DC and a very good hire as HCIW.

the only reason I could get behind JL as HCIW would be that he looks like a pakhead and talks like I imagine the pakhead talking.

other than that he is a big pile of meh

I really don't understand how so many people in our fanbase think being a "hot head" is a bad thing.   That's how a real rough ridin' coach is supposed to act.   When you have TC's & FP's on your team, you slap those bitches until they either man up or quit the team.   Mangino knew this, Leach knew this, & Leavitt rough ridin' knows this.
Best LIKELY HCIW scenario BY FAR

We aren't ever going to ever be a consistant top-10 team, it's just not going to happen.  A guy like Leavitt could make us a consistant top-25 team though.  And then you wait for a perfect storm type of occurance, when you get the right players in the right spots and make a run at the conference championship.  (Like Cincinnati last year)  GP would be, by far, the best we could get as HC but I don't see that happening anytime soon.  Take Leavitt as HCIW and run with that crap.

If he becomes a HCIW, the only way it happens is Currie okays it after putting out feelers to other candidates.

DC? Me want. HCIW? Whatever. Depends totally on assistants at that point.
