Alex has more 20+ yard passes than Tom Brady
avery catches 6 yd crossing route, runs for 15 more yds.
rinse. repeat.
Edelmann/Amendola/Welker/Sproles/etc catches a 5 yd crossing route, runs for 15 more yds. Rinse, repeat.
you realize you're listing players on offenses where the QB throws downfield to receivers, like, a lot right?
My point was the criticism on his down field passing is exaggerated based on his years in SF. People are just regurgitating SF fans thoughts. I understand he doesn't chuck the ball around but it's not like he's inept either.
He's slightly above middle of the pack right now with passes 20+ yards and as I stated earlier, ahead of Tom Brady (and I listed Brady's and other good QBs recievers that turn short catches into long catches showing the stat gets inflated by everyone)
Smith is one 20+ pass behind Tony Romo, Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford. He is also above Luck, Cutler, Wilson, Kaepernick, Bradford, Cam Newton. He's doing this in a new offense (and west coast for fucks sake) and has taken more shots down field in each game this season until the Titans game.
Will this keep up? Who knows? But people need to chill the eff out on a QB who's at 5-0 and is perfect for the system he's put in.
