albert is fine guys. he grades out as above-average at LT. a good qb will do wonders for an o-line.

Why not? Who would you prefer?

None of the QBs in this class impress me enough to take a top 5 pick on them.

Where are you getting all these scouting grades?

I'm glad, because we're good enough we'll end up winning like 5, maybe 6, and be drafting somewhere around 9th.

Smith isn't just putting up numbers.  He's putting up numbers and looking good doing it.  He looks like he's ready for the big stage.

LOL. Shut the eff up.

He has put up ridiculous, video game numbers up against Marshall, James Madison (DIVISION 2), Maryland and Baylor.

The only respectable team they've played is Baylor, who was giving up 492.67 yards per game BEFORE giving up 800+ to West Virginia.

He hasn't proven rough ridin' anything.

I was also thinking about sme previous TTU qbs who put up rediculous college numbers in a similar offense.  Not sure how well that style translates to the NFL.  I'd be more likely to feel comfortable with a more traditional qb in the top of the first round.  Still, neither Barkely nor Wilson impress me all that much.  Sucks that the Chiefs are going to have to use a top pick on a QB who likely isnt worth it.

pro football focus and football outsiders

according to profootballfocus, in regard to Pass Blocking Efficiency over the past 3 years, Winston ranks 8th among tackles and Albert ranks 12th.

will take.

also. good grief meister  :flush:

will take any one of geno, tyler wilson or bray, barkley, aaron murray, keith price, e. j. manuel...

most were laughing at miami for taking tannehill 8th overall, and he just put up over 400 yds on the defense that stoned brady and vick in back to back weeks. three big 12 qb's that the ksu cats played last friggin' year are starting nfl qb's. there are 5 rookie qb's starting. nearly half of the league's qb's are 25 or younger. there is no conceivable or logical reason to not draft qb's early and often. none.

if you whiff, ala san diego with ryan leaf, you go back to the well, ala san diego with drew brees and philip rivers...

barkley and wilson have both lost a little shine. i hope they slide. we should be all over the tyler wilson's of the world.

If Geno puts up big numbers against us, UT OU et al, I'll put my foot in my mouth.

But he's doing what Case Keenum did the past couple of years, and Keenum didn't go 1st round.

I don't know how great Geno Smith will be but I bet he'll be better than Cassel.

this is what several people said about cam and rg3. especially rg3.

but that argument simply doesn't carry any weight any longer. college qb's have never been more prepared for the nfl. i can think of 10 1st and 2nd year guys off the top of my head, who are starting right now. we've seen both cam and rg3 run the read option and take a lot of their snaps out of the gun. nfl coaches are adapting to their players, they aren't forcing them to run a classic "pro-style" offense.

RG3 has played 4 games. 4. Way too early to make a decision on him (or cam, really).

Yeah, the jury will still be out until his is 35 and in the twilight of his career. That is when the Chiefs will go get him.

Yeah, those guys are probably gonna tank.  We should stick with Cassel or Quinn in 2013 rather than taking a risk.

yep, there's no reason to risk the future.

should probably just draft another run stopping 3-4 def end who won't make any plays but will do exactly what we want him to do in our scheme and all...

ya know?

Was Cassel's Pro Bowl season a fluke, or is there something within the Chiefs organization causing him to regress?
