Was Cassel's Pro Bowl season a fluke, or is there something within the Chiefs organization causing him to regress?

It was the perfect storm.  Easy schedule.  NFL's best running game.  Weis running the play calling.  D-Bowe breaking out as a big play guy.  I give Cassel credit, he avoided INTs that year and played exactly how he needed to.

But it was essentially the flukiest fluke that ever fluked.

Yes, fluke. Did you watch the playoff game? Also, wasn't he the #5 QB in the AFC that year? One Super Bowl QB that wasn't eligible for the Pro Bowl and one injury?

RG3 has played 4 games. 4. Way too early to make a decision on him (or cam, really).

Yeah, those guys are probably gonna tank.  We should stick with Cassel or Quinn in 2013 rather than taking a risk.

I'm not saying don't get a quarterback but I'm way more comfortable with Barkley or another pro style guy than a guy who just throws the deep ball against non existent defenses.

Fluke. Pretty amazing confluence of events really. Jamaal averaged 6.4 a carry, 2nd best in nfl history. Only played 1 team with a winning record (and lost). Only beat 1 playoff team (the 7-9 seahawks). Only completed 57% of his passes for less than 7 ypa. Barely made it to 3000 yards. He was 15th overall in qbr. He was the 3rd alternate or something and due to injuries/disinterest he got the call.. Haley and weiss asked him to hand it off and not throw int's. They knew what he is.

Also, the pro bowl is a joke. All-pro team is legit. He never sniffed it.

Have you watched both Barkley and Smith play this season? Geno in every game he plays is making every single pass, not just the deep ball. Re-watch the Baylor game, many of the big plays where because he hit a receiver in stride and allowed them to turn upfield and make a play. Barkley has already thrown 5 picks and taken 7 sacks. Obviously he's faced better defenses (though Hawaii, Syracuse, and Cal aren't exactly great) but in the games I've seen of his he seems somewhat erratic on his throws. I'd take him in a heartbeat over Cassell, but he just screams bust to me. Geno will have some down games once he hits the meat of the BigXII schedule, but so did RG3.

LOL. Shut the eff up.

He has put up ridiculous, video game numbers up against Marshall, James Madison (DIVISION 2), Maryland and Baylor.

The only respectable team they've played is Baylor, who was giving up 492.67 yards per game BEFORE giving up 800+ to West Virginia.

He hasn't proven rough ridin' anything.

Wow, settle down.

Take a look at last year, it isn't like he's coming out of nowhere.  He looks improved over last year, and he looks better than anybody else right now.

In any case, Chiefs need a QB.
Never misunderestimate a Wildcat.

Cassel has weird facial hair. It's like a reddish blonde, while the rest of his hair is very dark. It's weird.

I thought it was weird how I always have a few red hairs mixed in with the rest of the dark ones.  He looks like he dies his beard or his hair.

GSmith is way more comparable to what RGIII ran last year than the Leach TTU system, imo. Making NFL throws all over the place. WANT.

OT: in 2006 if you would have told me that Brady Quinn was the Chiefs' backup QB I would have absolutely creamed myself in GPC-Sofia Vergara fashion

Spotted 2 Ys leaving practice yesterday when I was approaching the Truman Sports Complex.  He was totally wearing purple.

Unbelievable, we have the worst QB in the league, and they still feel the need to have the stripes eff us over.

I haven't seen this play. Is this as big of deal as the end of Seattle-Green Bay, or are Chiefs fans completely exaggerating this call?
