I'm nervous that Ed Reed's thieving, frozen, brother will give the Raven's extra umph today.   :ohno:

Ya, that was nice.

I'm excited for the Chefs today, however.  I hated the Carl Peterson regime so much that I get giddy thinking about the new guys winning with their QB.

The Panthers have actually been to the Super Bowl and played in 2 NFC Championship games over the same period the Chiefs have failed to win a single playoff game.

But what the Panthers have to do with the usual failure of the Chefs is only in your mind abana.

Chiefs: 2 playoff wins since their last championship (40 years ago)
Royals: 0 playoff wins since their last championship (25 years ago)

Royals won 3 series in that 40 years (2 playoff, one WS)
Chiefs won both playoff games since the Royals won their last one.

Crazy call but not really surprising at all. Raven's might be the best team in the NFL up the middle against the run.

This is the play that changed the game imo. 4th and about 6 inches and we run a rough ridin' toss sweep. All we had to do was QB sneak it, instead we pitch it back 5 yards away from the first down making Charles run parallel to the first down.

meh, they improved this season.  it would have been nice to win the game, but it's not realistic to expect that big of a turnaround in one year.  They're a young team and should be even more improved next season.  The future is bright.

Next year's schedule rough ridin' sucks.  We will have a much worse record next year, even if we pick up good free's and draft well.

Can't wait to play Pitt, NE, Indy, Chicago, and Green Bay.  Plus probably Minn and Det.  On top of that, we didn't exactly light up the AFC West this year.

I don't see the playoffs next year.

The Chiefs and Chargers will both play Buffalo, Miami, Green Bay and Minnesota at home. Both teams will also face the Patriots, Jets, Bears and Lions on the road. This in addition to the home and road games in the AFC West, which are also the same. So, the Chiefs and Chargers will play the exact same teams at the exact same venues 12 times. They will also play each other twice. The only differences in the schedule is that the Chargers host the Ravens and travel to Jacksonville, while the Chiefs host the Steelers and travel to Indianapolis.

I'm not worried about the Raiders, who will once again be starting over.

The Broncos are still a few years away and have yet to pick a new head coach.

So, just like in 2010, it will come down to the Chiefs and Chargers. I expect Pioli to upgrade the roster and I assume the Chiefs will make strides from this season to next, no different than they made strides from 2009 to 2010. The Chargers, meanwhile, will be replacing Ron Rivera, their defensive coordinator, who is likely headed to Carolina. I'm sure he'll take some Chargers assistants with him.

While I agree that it will be difficult to finish 10-6 with a schedule that's much more difficult, I don't think it's out of the question to suggest that 9-7 could win the division.
