I am very happy with the trade.  Garoppolo going for a 2 set the market poorly for the Chiefs.  Potential FA QBs Cousins, Bradford, Keenum, Bridgewater, perhaps Bortles, and a seemingly deep QB class hurt the market as well.  I though the Chiefs would end up with a 3rd.  A potential starter on a rookie deal is a huge plus.  I like Alex going to the NFC and a decent team too as a reward for some good seasons here, not that he shouldn't be shipped to the Browns if it benefits us.

Its amaze. We just freed up a bunch of money to sign a CB to go opposite Peters. Oh? The Redskins just gave us their best one? Thanks dumb idiots.

also.. the mahomes is an int machine narrative is stupid and wrong.

he threw 10 as a jr at tech in 591 attempts. for comparison sake, rodgers threw 8 in 316 attempts his jr year at cal.

and in his lone start he wasn't reckless with the ball.

He was pretty wreckless in that game.  On the final drive he heaved up one jump ball that the defender dropped. On another play he was sprinting right, and threw anothet lob across his body into the middle of the field.  Obviously he can learn to not do that, but if he's going to make exciting plays by taking chances, he's also going to make bad plays by taking chances.

I still have some christmas money left.  Maybe need to get that Mahomes jersey I had my eye on.  I'm not a huge jersey guy, but Mahomes is special to me.

you really do have to wonder what the hell the redskins were thinking though

Depending on what they do in free agency, they may pick up a 3rd round pick next year for letting Cousins go in which case it makes more sense.  That assumes the Redskins won't overpay some free agent which would be a big departure for them.

the Redskins know they need to win now - Cousins will absolutely take less money to play for a winner so he might be in Minn, Denver or AZ next year and win 10 games plus and Alex is their best shot at matching that kind of success.

Cousins is very likely to be the highest paid player ever when he gets a new contract. That is crazy.

I think they'd have to dump Talib and Sanders to make room.

Revis cap number is 4.5M right now, but I believe he has bonuses for playing each week, thus his cap number will actually be 10M (according to Spotrac.com) I have to believe he wont be a Chief this coming season.

KC right now is 7.6M under cap (Smith gone, Fuller added)
Cutting Tamba saves 7.7M
Cutting D.J. saves 8.0M (he could resign for 2-3M)
Letting Revis go saves 4.5M

That's puts us almost 28M under.
Need to sign Albert Wilson or get WR replacing him
Need a NT for our 3-4 (Logan is gone)
Need an ILB if Derrick isn't back with a restructured 1 year deal

Other things need to be done but  Derrick, Logan, and Wilson were starters.

Denver has 3 CBs making 30.9M combined. Sanders and D.Thomas make 23M.
They probably have to part with 1 CB & 1 WR
This is how much they save by cutting each -- Talib 11M, Harris 7.6M, Thomas 7.6M, Sanders 5.6M. The 3rd CB Roby would save them 8.5 but he is former 1st rd pick in his 5th year and they like.

The Browns Jets and Vikes have a ton of cap room.
The Broncos Bills and Cards also could make it work if they want Cousins

Think they should spend as much as needed to get the best ILB and DT they can.

Then re-sign Wilson for cheap (not sure his market value), or go get a guy like Sammy Watkins if the money is there.
