Don't take a QB at 1-1, unless he's a franchise QB.  It's simple.

Geno isn't a franchise QB.  He'll be lucky to be Freeman.

Kevin Kolb just got released by the Cardinals.  So, ya know, there's another awful quarterback available if we want him.

never, in the history of planet earth, has a starting qb been benched and then ended up on a different team and succeeded.

NEVER.

It's happened one time that I can think of.

Worst QB to ever win a SB? I think their defense averaged more points than their offense that year

He has to be, doesn't he? I can't think of anybody else who's not just way better than Dilfer.

Brad Johnson with the Bucs?

I take it back.  Just called Adam Schefter and he confirmed that Trent Dilfer was worse than Brad Johnson.  Sorry, guys.

Gannon was a stud. He was much better than Dilfer. He also did not win a Super Bowl.

In 2 years we'll all be  and bro hugging while the Chiefs go out and grab another AFC West title and beat the Packers in the Super Bowl

fyp

AFC Quarterbacks better than ours:
Brady
Manning
Luck
Roethlisberger
Rivers
Flacco
Dalton
Schaub

Yeah, we're set up perfectly for a super bowl run.

But hey, we're better than the Bills, Raiders, Browns, and other loser teams at QB!

If we rolled with Geno, more teams would be above us.
Go ahead and name them.

My word you morons suck me back in so hard.

Gannon was such an extreme outlier. Its like when people say draft a QB in round 6 because Brady was a 6th round pick. Gannon had slipped through the cracks of the NFL, never really got a full chance. Meanwhile Smith started since the day he showed up, had 1 1/2 decent seasons (never thrown 20 TDs etc.) and had a good QB rating and you dorks climb over each other to say we're going to the super bowl.

Good Grief.

This is from Save our Chiefs. You Chiefs tucks should drink up this kool aid.

Quote
Alex Smith completed 70% of his passes and had a 8.1ypa. He also threw a touchdown pass every 16.8 throws and an interception every 43.6 passes.

Andy Reid's quarterbacks threw the ball 616 times last season.

So Alex Smith's numbers at 616 attempts would equate to this:

432/616
4928 yards
37td passes
14 interceptions

Eat it up Chiefs Tucks!

Gannon also only got benched because Marty Schottenheimer was a moron who did it to try to avoid a QB controversy.

The only other stud who slipped through the NFL cracks that I can think of would be Kurt Warner. The story about him bagging groceries before he got picked up by the Rams was just great.

Only QB's left in the AFC are Palmer, Fitzpatrick, Gabbert, Tannehill, Locker, Weeden, Henne, Sanchez, Cassel

I'd take Geno over Gabbert, Henne, Sanchez, Cassel. Thats it

Yup, only tucks should be excited for a QB throwing for almost 5000 yards.

I would take Geno over all of those guys, because all of them suck, and Geno might not suck.

Eh, don't really need him. Hali and Houston are probably both as good or better than Dumervil at this point. Though if he'd sign relatively cheap I'd take him and rotate the 3.

No, but he did experience quite a bit of success after being benched/traded following an injury.

How many playoff games in KC? 2? 2003 def. wasn't on him, and 2006 possibly was but as jtksu said, he had sketti brains by that point.
