i drink coffee in a pint glass on my way to work and keep a toothbrush and toothpaste at work to brush right when i get there. also, i sometimes (sometimes) will take the pint glass into the shower with me.

How do you keep from burning your hands? Do you hold the glass with a tea towel or something?

it's not hot like you would think it would be, but also i always put two ice cubes in it. coffee is just too hot. different thread?
I feel like there is only about a 10-15minute range optimal temp for coffee  :don'tcare: very frustrating

million dollar idea- invent a rechargeable coffee cup that has a built in thermostat that you can set to keep your coffee at a certain temperature.

Study: Heavy Coffee Drinking Could Impact Lifespan
Updated: Aug 16, 2013 11:41 AM CST
By WBAY.com Staff - email

New research shows the amount of coffee you drink could affect your lifespan.

The study, conducted by the Mayo Clinic, shows people under 55 who drink more than four cups of coffee a day have a higher risk of death.

For people over 55, the coffee didn't have any effect on lifespan.

Researchers say men under 55 who drink more than four cups daily are at a 56 percent increased risk of early death.  For women, the risk is 113 percent higher.

Some studies have shown that drinking more like two cups a day can lower your risk of heart disease.

I mean, I am fine, unless a "cup" of coffee isn't 8oz for some weird bizzarro reason.  I mean, 32oz of coffee is a lot.

color me shocked.  looks like ol' 'sclams called this one a while ago, but hey fellas, how about this coffee stuff, eh?  holy crap i had an arabica bean last week that blew my mind.  anyway- man.  french pressed the living crap out of that rough rider and damn, that coffee was glorious.  used a blend of different waters i had imported from spain and micronesia to really take it to the next level.  not over the top, mind you, because let's be honest here, there is no over the top when it comes to brewing premiere level bean/water combos.

32 oz of coffee daily is a lot but for everyone of these "coffee kills you" studies there are just as many "coffee saves your life/kills cancer" studies. The fact is coffee (black or with milk) is pure nectar from the Gods and anyone who tells you different is a liar. I could back this up with studies n such but I think I've made my point.

Well, I think both studies are probably accurate. Just like everything else, coffee is fine in moderation.

Btw, I've found Kona coffee (big island) to be the best. Fike farms is good. The owner is a bit odd but she's more than willing to brew you a pot in her kitchen on her mr coffee. She'll also let you roam her house while she leaves to chase down coffee plant destroying pigs. Actually she's really odd.

I've cut back to just drinking on the weekends.

The side effects of too much caffeine as it relates to bowel movement and high blood pressure is too harmful in the long term.

If you drink too much in one day you run the risk of depleting your body of alot of nutrients and vitamins, which in turn stunts your bone and muscle repair.   Also the daily high blood pressure raises will take a toll on your arteries and help facilitate blockage.

I switched to an alt coffe like drink that I found at hippy foods.  It's called Caffix and I drink it with almond milk.  It tastes just like the real thing.

I hit up some real joe at the coffeehouse on the weekends though.  I enjoy the live jazz bands that usually play there.

do we have a weird things done in the shower thread  :dunno:

I hope not.

i take 25 minute hybrid bath-showers in the morning and catch up on BBS'n.  like quick couple minute normal shower to get clean, then i turn the water on lower and engage the stopper thing and just kinda sit down and chill and drink coffee and BBS and stuff with a constant (light) hot shower keeping things fresh and relaxing.

it's kinda weird i guess.
