This article on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is a great example of the press being completely unwilling to state the obvious clearly.
Russian forces are occupying the power plant and using it as a shield to shell Ukrainian positions. This is of course a war crime and should be condemned, but the NYT (and pretty much any other source) won’t state the obvious that it is Ukraine that is shelling the nuclear plant.
“Each side has blamed each other” and NYT just kind of shrugs its shoulders. This is easy enough to see through but now there are claims that there will be sabotage there and both sides are preemptively blaming each other, would be nice if the coverage could enlighten rather than obscure.
