I swear to rough ridin' God if y'all don't stop blaming the coaches for freshman back up quarterbacks looking like freshman backup quarterbacks. JESUS CHRIST.

Spencer Rattler is getting booed at home, D.J. Uiagalelei has the 99th best QBR in the country and y'all are firing coaches because our backups suck.

I swear to rough ridin' God.

the roller coaster this blog takes itself on is pretty extreme. I don't remember people getting so high or low week-to-week and friggin play-to-play but maybe I've changed.

I was crapping on the defense (and with some good reason), but my God our offense is just too bad to overcome.

An average offense would win this game.

Yeah, I was super critical of them first half, second half was much, much better. I don't expect shut outs but my god the tackling and playmaking was awful first half.

This offense is hot garbage outside of Duece

Y'all lost your crap about three drives, it was an unfounded meltdown.

Ok, but that's not what a great or good defense would give up in a half.

It's college football, it absolutely happens. Flood Aggie had the #1 defense in the country coming into today and they had two shitty quarters too. Alabama gave up 50 to Ole Miss last year.

I guess this game answers the question whether the Lynch Mob is back or not.

They gave up 24 points and pitched a shutout in the second half, all without stubblefield and green.  The defense ain’t the problem.
Not the problem but still I feel like either the defense improves or we’re DOA without Sky. Barring a special teams TD or big defensive play it’s tough to imagine this offense ever getting over 30 points.

This wouldn't look so fraudulently arbitrary if we hadn't beat a team within this "streak" that's just as good as most of the teams we lost to.

We'll see when the year is done.  It's possible the first half was a fluke.  It's also possible that we get run out of the building the rest of the year

Still pretty optimistic about the rest of the season. Offense was putrid and looked worse with Lewis imo. I think the D got out-schemed in the first half. Gundy is a good coach. The D bowing up in 2nd half speaks volumes.

Weird they stayed w Lewis imo. Howard’s fall on his butt fumble after the Knowledge KOR miscue was all that separated us from a 1-score game, even including the rest of the offensive woes.

Thompson should go down as a huge “what might have been” in Cat history.  I think he’ll show that when he comes back. A true cat.

Frustrating both our backups look so bad.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

That's exactly the point, catastrophe. People are holding the coaches accountable for backup quarterbacks playing like backup quarterbacks.

Rattler is going to have a coming out game next week just like Spencer did tonight. He'll have 5 TDs only because they take the foot off the gas and the backs will run for 2 more. Not even saying our D is terrible, it's just how the rough ridin' stars align for our beloved Cats. And really, how much better is a 80% Skyler than what we saw tonight from Howard and Lewis? Take away the Special Teams score and we put up 10 points on offense to OSU. Just hope Skyler is good to go next week but I can't help but think he's a bit rushed and won't be 100%.

IMO we should have been all in on Lewis since Sky went down. At least he hasn’t shown his ceiling yet. Howard had plenty of opportunity to develop and just never seemed to take much of a step forward.

Still think ruining Howard’s brain and gaining an extra blocker would have been the premier strategy.

That he isn’t a freshman backup QB, he still looks lost despite having nearly 3 full years in the program.

I may have mocatted a number there, but we haven't lost six conference games since 1989.  And it's looking really likely that seven and eight is imminent.

He was better than average in 2019 and in the 4 games he's played since then.
