I hope you're right, but I feel like I'm going to have a lot of very pissed off five hour drives home when Deuce rushes for 150 yards on 19 carries and Martinez has 3 picks and a fumble on 22 pass attempts.

How do you feel after watching Howard QB?

Frustrating a.f. but he doesn't turnover the ball like Martinez does and he doesn't have damn near 45 games under his belt. I realize the potential with Martinez but I'm not of the belief that his issues are because of Nebraska's coaches or his crap offensive line. He's a grade a poor decision maker.

I think you really underestimate the impact of coaching when it comes to decision making/total turnovers. Will only had one interception this year because he was only asked to throw the safest routes imaginable (and he got lucky some of those weren't picks). If they called the same plays for Will that they called for Sky he would have had way more interceptions. I'm sure focusing on limiting interceptions and the required decision making was a point of emphasis for Will in every practice as well

Last year attempted 168 passes and had 10 INT's.

This year he attempted 55 and had 1 interception.

You can scheme your quarterback not to throw the arm punts that Martinez loves. You can't scheme your way out of inaccuracy, or an irrational belief of your arm strength.

you can absolutely scheme your way out of inaccuracy. You definitely give something else up but it can be done. You can also, you know, coach players out of irrational arm strength belief. Like I have no idea why you think it can't be addressed

I am expecting Martinez to be somewhat turnover-prone but I do think better situations and OL play can help quite a bit.  I'm sure I'll leave some games frustrated by him. I do think they'll at least be worth watching as I'm not particularly interested in Will Howard trying to score 20 points and hoping it's somehow enough.

I'd want to know more about the fumbles, but my HFBIQ shows AM is way better than what we got. Maybe not as good as Skylar, but different, so maybe different enough to be better?

Aside from the throw talked about in that Wisconsin game, the whole highlight reel from it is pretty damn good.

Martinez has been an INT every 35 attempts guy for 4 years. That's with a sample size of 1,000+ throws. Will is an interception every 20 throws type. (for reference Skylar has been an INT every 50 attempts guy basically his whole career)

Was it ever made public what Rubley’s preseason injury was?  I wonder how much that may have had to do with him being an adamant ‘not playing’ status this year

Free transfers basically killed juco football, but we should definitely take 1 HS guy and a medium range portal and one year portal

I could see free transfers allowing a savvy coach like Snyder 1.0 to pick up some very solid players from jucos.

regarding AM i watched a lot of nubb football this year and found guilty pleasure in "oh man how are they going to manage to screw this up?" because with all those losses they were threatening and driving the ball and then inevitably some catastrohpe would happen and they'd lose, but they had a chance. If we're going to lose i'd rather lose like that then just trotting out some predictable impotent game plan that will only work if the opposing DC is completely stupid.

I guess what i'm saying is, if i'm putting for eagle, I don't want to leave it short.
