The pro's and the adults: Fuel proxy wars, sanctions, threaten military intervention, threaten sanctions

For those that don't get it, this is why Joe has sent more troops back to Africa.
Why would any African nation trust the United States after what we and our partners did to Libya?
Did you read that article? It polls sub-Saharan African youth, makes no mention of Libya and says that on an individual level, Biden would have a bigger impact than anyone else on Africa over the next five years. The article ends with:
Respondents predicted that Biden would have a much more positive impact than his predecessor Donald Trump, with 63 percent saying he would improve U.S.-Africa trade relations and 61 percent forecasting that he would help boost foreign investment.
Fantastic job of leaving out the precipitous drop in (using polling, mind you) in the perception of the positive influence that the U.S. has in Africa. Not to mention the overall drop in U.S. influence on Africa. So the simple minded person (like Waks) wants to make this about Trump/Biden. But there's a much bigger picture here.
Let's also discuss this, which walks hand in hand with the pro's and adults constantly living in environment of threats: Alden Young, a Non-Resident Fellow at the Quincy Institute, blames Washington’s security-focused approach to Africa for its reduced influence in the region. “Right now, the U.S. is mainly seen as a provider of security equipment,” Young said. “It doesn’t have much to offer in terms of economic development.”
“The Chinese in particular are seen primarily to invest in infrastructure,” he continued. “It’s hard for the U.S. to take a leadership role if it’s not going to compete on a commercial, cultural, or financial economic playing field.”I'll leave the triple decker that this administration is doing on Europe (again) out of this discussion. Again, these were the alleged pro's and adults and the only thing they seem to know are threats, military action and sanctions
