No, he wasn't an idiot for saying what his intentions are, at some point, the motivation for making decisions can't be centered around fragile white people. The intentionality was important. It was important for him to acknowledge that this was a wrong that needed to be made right, just like it was important when Regan made his proclamation. The emancipation proclamation was 159 years ago. The 19th amendment was ratified 101 years ago. The first woman was named to the supreme court 41 years ago. All of this has happened all these years ago, and instead of being embarrassed about the legacy on inequity, on all levels, in this country. You people are crying about someone pointing it out and doing something to fix it. The reaction to this is an embarrassment, but completely unsurprising.

So it was just black females that were affected then?

The least represented relative to the population, yes. I don't know if there are more Hispanic men or Black women in the country, it's close, but there are already six men on the supreme court.

As for finding qualified Asians, Hispanics, etc, I'm all for it. I'm sure you know this because I'm certain you've called her a slur, but there's already a Latina on the supreme court. White people and white men are overrepresented on the supreme court and every court relative to the population. Biden wouldn't need to be intentional with representation in the judicial branch if previous presidents didn't act like only white people could do the job.
