Mr. Haroon, who is about 40, was captured by Afghan forces while serving as a commander of the Hezb-i-Islami militia, known as HIG, which fought the American and allied invasion of Afghanistan along with the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

So if you're a native of a country and you fight against (another set) of invaders to protect your country, you're automatically in Al Qaeda?  How positively Bushian in thought process.

If trump would free him, then free him.  this guy needs to get back to afghanistan to lead Hezb-i-Islami.  They are definitely missing his leadership on the field of battle

You've just confirmed that United States sent the guy to Gitmo because of and only because of proximity.

The U.S. invades the dudes country and unilaterally declares he's AQ and sends him off to Gitmo for 14 years.

'Merica!! (SlowDug)

Again, if you read the entire article you should be positively enraged that your guy Barrack let the really bad people go already.

Discussing how the United States invaded a persons country and then incarcerated that person for 14 years without charge means you hate the military (SlowDug)

BTW, your guy Joe "5 deferments" Biden:  Draft Dodger (never met a war he didn't want, tho), but they did issue him a puffer for that Asthma

Caught again?

Yes.  Obviously he was wrongfully detained and Trump released him sometime 2016-2020 because trump was in Biden's position at the time.

I agree, Trump keeping this innocent man locked up for 4 years doesn't make much sense.

The fascinating thing is, this guy is such a nobody and Barrack already let the majority of the truly bad guys go.

You can't fight against us when we invade your country, we're 'Merica (SlowDug)

Yes that is the position Mr. Trump and I both endorsed.  One of us could make it national policy.

Circle Back Girl affirms she's just not comfortable with mentally incapacitated iPOTUS Joe talking to the press too much (even though all they do is lob softballs) and MI iPOTUS Joe admits that his staff freaks out if he answers too many questions, says he's gonna get into trouble.

Expected, but still sad

This doesn't seem intuitive based on the balance of power and policy preferences over the medium term future nor does it seem like it's a great idea to keep waiting on things like the power transmission.
