I'll just tell you. Kevin Lockett and Elijah Johnson. Kevin's son was playing (JV) and Elijah runs a club team and was watching some of his kids

Athletic but their basketball ceiling is high school varsity in basketball. Not sure about football.

I would not in a million years recognize Elijah Johnson.

I wouldn't have recognized John McGraw either FWIW

If you asked me what Jon McGraw looked like I’d say “like some regular guy”. Remember when that KU player dunked on J Rake with that one?

Elijah Johnson was pointed out to me by someone else. I wouldn't just recognize Kevin Lockett but I have served him coffee several times and chatted with him. Nice guy.

my daughter played one of elijah team's, he was coaching them.  throttled the ever-living crap out of them.  their team name is Just 4215 or something like that, i kept wondering wtf it meant, think it's his number and his wife's number

If your daughter is already good she'll be alright.  If you are looking for development, there's better choices...

My niece is a good athlete (competitive gymnist) but isn't a great player.  I think he actually told her that he needed basketball players and not playground players or something so they left LOL

Ask the club how many teams they have at your daughters level,

Shock is pretty solid, Livin the Dream is probably the most inclusive but doesn't have the talent to compete.  42-15 has 1 top and then not much.  Mokan(merged with eclipse) is very competitive.

We live close to 42-15 and LTD and have tried both.  Both of my kids enjoyed LTD more because they didn't get much coaching/attention from 42-15. With LTD we were always 500 during league play and couldn't compete in tournaments really at all.  I didn't mind because my girls got a ton of playing time against solid competition, but my kids were one of the better kids on their team and they would not be if they were on a mokan/shock team.

There's some individual dads that have their own teams too and have tryouts from time to time.

Not to say my daughter’s 5th grade rec volleyball team was elite but 6 of the 10 girls are now playing college volleyball.

my daughter played for eclipse, then mokan, pretty positive experience.  also have several friends who's kids went thru shock, and they all seemed to like it there

I think these are the top 2 IMO

They also have multiple teams at most grade levels which is really hard to find for girls.

my niece plays for a MoKan team. my only takeaway from watching them when they were in an Omaha tournament is the coach seemed good but the parents seemed like losers. no cheering for the team, constant complaining to the refs. this would be 7th grade girls. obviously not indicative of all MoKan teams or anything, probably just got a bad batch of fuckwad parents.

How much did this cost?
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I feel like it’s a few hundred bucks per session and then more depending on tourneys and skills sessions

That gets you 3 hours of practice/instruction and 2 games a week  plus tournaments

That’s pretty typical

A session is about 8 weeks

Oh, that’s not too much. I’m guessing there are pretty pricy options as well for their teams that REALLY travel and/or are extremely competitive.

Playing in tourneys makes it more expensive. There’s also a gate at every game so might as well factor in an extra 50-100 for that

I started wrestling in high school and never did youth wrestling but my buddy's kid was competing in 8U districts for a spot in the state tournament today in Harrisonville MO so I went to check it out....I was not prepared.

Just complete organized pandemonium. We ended up having to park half a mile away and the gym/auxiliary gym/hallways were just packed with people and kids running around everywhere, luckily my buddies wife had saved us a seat while he was an assistant coach running from match to match wherever the next kid in their club is wrestling.

There are 6 matches in the main gym going on at the same time so there are always parents screaming "COME ON JXYSEN!" and whistling/clapping non stop. There are no announcements or anything, you just know "I wrestle match 114" which is the 14th match on mat 1 and the second your match is over you are hustled off the mat and match 115 is starting twenty seconds later even if the losing kid is bawling his eyes out. It was just a lot to take in all at once and nothing like any JOCO Highschool wrestling tournaments back in the day.

I had heard that girls wrestling was a growing sport but I was kind of shocked at how many 6-10 year old girls were out there wrestling. Definitely not as many girls as boys but it was a noticeable amount. They can compete in the "Open" division but I only saw them wrestling other girls.

Anyways lil kids wrestling are adorable, my buddies kid got 2nd place in his weight class and I got an intro into the crazy world of youth wrestling.
