asbestos is not only less expensive but also has better insulative properties than mineral wool and yet for some reason the government, aka Joe Biden, feels it necessary to outlaw it now why is that? Does Joe have a problem with people who want to keep their families warm in the wintertime without having to take out a second mortgage? No of course not, the dems want to make sure that the general public stays poor, uneducated, just barely scraping by so when they roll out a pittance of a social safety net we'll all say thank you dear leader joe! And sure, yeah some doctors might try to tell you asbestos causes cancer but has anyone really done the research? I mean, i dunno, maybe its just me but have you noticed that we haven't had a case of cancer from asbestos since the 70s? of course the big government won't tell you that. Do you think its possible, that just maybe, asbestos technology has evolved since 1976, Joe? Just because you haven't evolved doesn't mean the rest of the world hasn't either. I'm just asking questions, but could this technology not also evolve? Heck in the past 20 years we've seep laptop technology evolve to where those things went from 20 lbs for a 10" screen to nowadays you get twice the screen and they barely weigh a pound. Or maybe instead of pounds i should say...kilos, since that's the unit of weight the Biden family is more familiar with. Of course if we the taxpaying public ever want to see the contents of that 1.25 kilo laptop of Hunters whellll you'd better not hold your breath because thats a secret that is about a million times more safely guarded than all those documents that ChinaJoe left just laying around in laughably unsecure locations, locations bought and paid for by his good friends in the Chinese governm

I remodeled one of my missouri properties and put in a gas stove to replace electric.  I did not know this was wrong.

in places like california where there is a lot of seismic activity, its virtually impossible to make earthquake-proof gas piping for miles (numbering in the millions upoin millions).

For some reason California takes exception to just having millions upon millions of cubic feet of natural gas spilling out all over the place right after an earthquake (and with no means to contain it) because they are total socialist weirdos.

you can automatically shut crap off all you want, what does that have anything to do with the (and i'm actually saying this quite literally and not to be hyperbolic) millions upon millions of cubic feet of pipe volume so that the gas can be transmitted to the customers? they're not worried about the 1" line that feeds the stove in your single family dwelling are we even talking about the same subject right now? what are you even talking about dax? i'm confused (as usual, i know)

and no one is gonna be pulling out existing residential lines that still have millions of customers hooked up.

I’m working on a project in California right now where my HVAC design attempted to utilize a natural gas fired heating hot water boiler to provide heating for the building. When we submitted the plans to the authority having jurisdiction the plan was rejected. When I met with the code official to inquire as to why, that was the reason he cited to me.
But he’s just a plan reviewer so who knows he could be full of crap. California building code, title 24, is all pretty complicated stuff, I don’t pretend to have my head fully wrapped around it

I'd heard the climate change a while ago but only recently did I learn about the link to asthma.

Am I the only person here who has actually been in a gas leak? eff gas stoves. The rush of seeing a flame when I cook indoors isn't worth the risk of my wife and kids blowing the eff up in my house.

I think his point is valid but it's kind of funny that he "believes" this study "inspired the proposed regulations" when no regulations have been proposed by the cpsc.

And yes the second guy was way more balanced lol and I'll accept that they probably shouldn't be banned for asthma based on that study alone.

This also provides a more nuanced look at how the cpsc might approach it (since they haven't done anything yet). I'll acknowledge the cpsc has made some really dumb regulations but evaluating the risks of something like gas stoves and considering regulations for them seems like what they should be doing:

yeah, the reporting has been really poor.  there isn't now and there is not going to be any federal regulation or legislation curtailing the use of gas stoves.
