I’m working on a project in California right now where my HVAC design attempted to utilize a natural gas fired heating hot water boiler to provide heating for the building. When we submitted the plans to the authority having jurisdiction the plan was rejected. When I met with the code official to inquire as to why, that was the reason he cited to me.
But he’s just a plan reviewer so who knows he could be full of crap. California building code, title 24, is all pretty complicated stuff, I don’t pretend to have my head fully wrapped around it

I’m working on a project in California right now where my HVAC design attempted to utilize a natural gas fired heating hot water boiler to provide heating for the building. When we submitted the plans to the authority having jurisdiction the plan was rejected. When I met with the code official to inquire as to why, that was the reason he cited to me.
But he’s just a plan reviewer so who knows he could be full of crap. California building code, title 24, is all pretty complicated stuff, I don’t pretend to have my head fully wrapped around it
yeah, new construction has to be electric starting this year (i think).

I think his point is valid but it's kind of funny that he "believes" this study "inspired the proposed regulations" when no regulations have been proposed by the cpsc.
And yes the second guy was way more balanced lol and I'll accept that they probably shouldn't be banned for asthma based on that study alone.
This also provides a more nuanced look at how the cpsc might approach it (since they haven't done anything yet). I'll acknowledge the cpsc has made some really dumb regulations but evaluating the risks of something like gas stoves and considering regulations for them seems like what they should be doing:
