Virtual happy hours are probably the worst thing about COVID.

I just don't do them. they suck so much
I've become the default leadership point person for them and it's almost made me quit drinking they are so unbearable

The only time I miss the office is every three months or so when I need to scan or print something for personal use. I always spend 20 minutes rough ridin' with my printer at home, trying to get it to work. The one in the office always worked immediately with no hassle.
CamScanner is a fantastic app.

It's definitely easy to get sucked into longer days.  Just need to work a little more on setting boundaries to fix that though.  Since an initial spike, it's been pretty smooth sailing for me.

Turn off work emails (or at least notifications) on your phone.
Love the Do Not Disturb feature in Office 365. No notifications after hours, on the weekend, or during meetings. Co-workers know to text or call if it's urgent. Otherwise, piss off until normal hours.

I'm loving the crap out of not commuting for an hour every day as well as wearing shorts and a t shirt.  Meetings increased a tiny bit early on but have gone back down to normal.  I do need to upgrade my chair though.  The padding in the seat just isn't enough.  I could probably go in to the building and take my chair from there, it is super comfortable and I think they have been letting people take equipment home.

The chair I had pre-covid was comfy but it wasn't meant to be an 8 hour a day chair.  My hips started hurting after a couple weeks in March.  I got this at the end of March or early April and have been very impressed.

I am currently on a WebEx call with 95 people and apparently the mods either don't have or don't know how to mute all and it such a clusterfuck.  Some guy ordering at a drive-thru, multiple people yelling at their kids and even more coughing and sneezing.  It's embarrassing that people I work with are this dumb.

Back from furlough and into the home office as of yesterday!  I got switched teams which sucks because I liked my old boss but I think I went from middle of the pack on my old team to tops on this one, so that'll be interesting.

Will they?  I've been on 4-5 video conference calls a day since mid March.

The past couple of weeks I have been doing coworking sessions with some friends. We are all a part of the same discord and I play poker with this group every Saturday night and other games too. We have been hopping in video chat and listening to music. It's been nice, very chill and we just listen to music and work throughout the day, some come and go as meetings come up. It's as close to being back in the office as you can get, we all work in IT too.

Hanging out with work people is weird.

None of these people are work people. I chat via Discord with these friends all day anyway so it's very chill. Like right now we have people from NY, Cali, Texas, Miss, London and Hungary in here.
