BTW in your state as of 7/6 black people had a 20% plus lower vaccination rate than white people.  The second biggest gap in the US behind Florida.

I went to my first real concert last weekend and vaccine proof was required, and they were checking and I saw them deny entry to a guy who didn't have proof. Went to a Brooklyn Nets game and either vaccine proof or negative test was required.

I agree with the reply that airlines would be a great start, people will comply just like they did with masks

It’s possible, folks.

As someone sitting Day 4 in quarantine fighting off symptoms, I can personally attest you still need to be careful and, most importantly, get vaccinated.

Why? Especially since mine didn’t keep COVID from my body?

So there aren’t any more variants to pierce highly-effective vaccines that would ordinarily get all of us back to normal life. But if you want an answer maybe a bit more personal to you: get vaccinated so you won’t go to the hospital or die.

Every health care professional I’ve come across in the last few days tell me the two shots of Pfizer I got in February are what’s keeping a 52-year-old like me from a far worse experience than the awful one I’m having. So, be careful if you’re vaccinated and, if you’re not vaccinated, don’t wait another second.

I know my comments might get messy, but life is truly too short. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

U.S. Senator from Kansas, Roger Marshall, M.D., has joined some of his colleagues introducing the Travel Mask Mandate Repeal Act of 2021, legislation to prohibit the imposition of mask mandates on public transportation.

I do think that there should be no prohibition on private businesses requiring masks if they want.  Businesses should be allowed to refuse service to people not wearing a mask, just like how they should be able to refuse service to anyone they like since it is a private business.

As long as there are enough unvaccinated disease carriers to spread it around, you can literally have millions of vaccinated people in the US get COVID even if the (again, amazing) 95% protection holds for Delta. We’ve basically given up on stopping the spread, but at least almost everyone at risk of serious complications has had a chance to get protected.

As far as I can tell, the proposed legislation simply prevents the federal government from imposing a mask mandate.

From the bill:

It prevents federal agencies from forcing private businesses (or other public agencies) to have mask mandates.  For example, no federal agency could force airlines to have a mask mandate.

Yeah, I guess I don't really have a problem with Marshall supporting that bill from a standpoint that it's sort of in line with his purported views. I don't agree with the legislation personally because I view the government having the ability to mitigate the spread of deadly disease as a matter of national defense, though.
