Agreed. It's not going anywhere. You can't stay home forever because the minute you stop staying home, there it is.
I absolutely can and will WFH and not go to bars or fly until case counts are way down locally and/or there's a vaccine. Hard to justify things like that when my wife's unit is way understaffed and she has had coworkers (including at least one nurse) die from it. I'm not worried about catching from it as much as I am about spreading it to people who don't have the luxury of working from home. My job's pretty stable, I'm lucky to have friends within walking distance with nice back yards, to be in California where you can always do something outside so I'll be fine.
That said, if places like KC or Wichita can keep their case counts trackable then yeah open up and contain it.
