I was simply asking cRusty why he always plays the race the card as if I didn't believe the Taiwanese cus brown people (BTW your killed a crap ton of brown people) . . . when I'm coming at it from the political perspective.   W.H.O. snubbed Taiwan, knowing that China lost a lot more people, heavily criticized, while Taiwan is the poster child for handling this situation, or at least that's what they want you to believe (and I'm sure that's probably the case given demographics, size and geography).

Centralized quarantine is the normal way to deal with epidemic disease. Honestly if we locked down to get healthcare ready and let science catch up a bit so we could diagnose and treat infected better then mission accomplished and open up with distancing protocols in place and let's deal with the deaths which should be lower than if we didn't lockdown.

I heard a podcast with Dr. David Katz and while I thought he was off on somethings he did stick pretty hard to the 20% number of infected.  That is, he states just about everywhere Spain, Russia, the Norwegian Princess 20% will get it, 80% will not.  His theory is 80% of the population is either immune or genetically will not get it, 20% will and those numbers are consistent across the human species.

Is this BS?

The problem you have, Phil.   Is that you'll completely fail to take into consideration a multitude of other factors when discussing their relative "success".    Tracing and testing aside (because there's simply no way their level of testing caught everyone now that we know so much more about this virus) they didn't lock everyone down on quarantine and they are extremely compliant on mask usage.   Herd immunity and extreme self containment of asymptomatic spread by using masks.

I mean, how much flattening the curve did we lose by having our "experts" tell us not to wear masks for several weeks?  Looks at notes:  Fauci, Brix et. al.

Which only hammers home why anyone who doesn't wear a mask in public right now, yet demands everything be opened back up needs to be shamed with extreme prejudice.   Now that we know the virus can stay with some symptomatic infectees for 50 plus days, I don't think it's a stretch to think that the the virus could stay with at some asymptomatic infectees for that long as well.
