I mean you posted a tweet from him...:dunno:
Ah - impressive memory.  I forgot.  Yeah, a week and a half ago I thought he had a good point about the IHME model.

https://twitter.com/AlexBerenson/status/1247010068148731904?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1247010068148731904&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgoemaw.com%2Fforum%2Findex.php%3Faction%3Dprofile%3Bu%3D51%3Barea%3Dshowposts%3Bstart%3D50

as sys pointed out, the actual number was within their predicted range for that day. they update that model pretty frequently, but not in real time.

I still think it's a good point.  I mentioned that NY was kicking the projections' asses and Sys asked "what projections?" and I posted that tweet showing the near contemporary IHME model and what was actually happening.  Also, when the predicted range is 3500-9500 for ICU beds needed today...yeah that's quite a bit of leeway, but it was within the range, so good job by the model there.

Anyway, I don't really want to keep going back and forth on this.  I hope the projections get (or stay) as good as possible and that the officials make the proper determinations based on the data.

The same dumbassiest people that must be referenced in all "unnamed sources" that are Anti-Trump

Thanks for the perpetually reference-able post SD.

Again, maybe not suitable for intubation, but they are ventilators.

BPAP (BiPAP is a brand) is suitable for pneumonia and COPD, not just sleep apnea.

I won't say I'll enjoy it, but when we hit May 1st and we're still getting like probably 20-25k new cases a day when he was saying it would be zero (or virtually zero, w/e he actually said) it'll be yet another date he'll miss, and it will be oh so typical Elon time. Probably tells me the more accurate answer then would be like July 1st (assuming we could actually quarantine people but that ain't happening) since he's so good at missing dates by months.

This article absolutely speaks to me. I am on video conference calls multiple times a day. While it’s fine for work stuff the crap load of family/friends calls has worn on me. I was supposed to have another one tonight and I was actually relieved that it was moved to tomorrow because of a conflict.

Just don't join, you have a good reason. I've only done a zoom wedding and work happy hours thankfully. Actually did a couple with local friends early on but my wife was there so I could just leave if I wanted

I’m going to limit them going forward. I honestly almost feel worse after I leave them because it reinforces how rough ridin' much this all sucks. I’m already an introvert by nature and all of these just wear me out.

Before you do that, you should test out a dngaf attitude on the calls and see if that organically solves the problem.

whatever led to that demand (whether it was an unreliable projection or his/his cabinet's incompetent interpretation) is a failure.   goal 4 improve every day as a person, player, and covid 19 actor.

the difference between needing 10k beds and 40k beds is about 10 days of uncontrolled transmission.

i have since then become pretty convinced that that imhe model is pretty much garbage.  there have been multiple twitter threads and one article on it.  i think silver linked the article if anyone wants to look for it.

I already do that. What I feel like my issue is(idk if this is the thread to dig deep into this) I’m artificially mixing work and personal time. I’m physically in the same location, same clothes, the same spot I’ve already been in for 8-10 hours already for work. There’s no buffer time to jam out to the radio going to a different location. All eyes are on you at all times, there’s no ability to just be if someone else is talking. I mean they help but there’s so much more focus than IRL hanging out and it stresses me out.
