WFH killed the content quality of this thread. On the bright side, old job is going to start having monthly mandatory in person company meetings followed by voluntary happy hour.
To spice this thread up we are going to make that a mandatory happy hour for you
Absolutely. If I remember correctly chum has a slightly older female colleague who was very flirty?

Wacky called me a slacker at work in another thread. For the record, I just recieved this from #2 on org chart at my new job.

Old job org chart just dropped. D2 listed as boss of me and GG. Officially all the way back! (Or close enough.)

I was thinking about D2's longevity in spite of actual attempts to oust him. I'm in my 4th year and two presidents have left. Given that a new president isn't going to come in and start firing people right away, all D2 has ever really needed to do is hang on for like six months or so until he is no longer under fire. I'm going to keep this strategy in mind for myself in case I ever fall out of favor!

New software implementation meeting today at old job. SUPER long rant from D2 about people getting vaccines. "It's so political. Wish it wasn't. People maybe upset about election. Understandable. People still shouldn't react that way. Need to be careful about mandates, though." On and on and ON.

Then wrapped-up the whole rant with, "But I love our country. I really do. I love our new software. We'll get this thing done."

I saw FG for the first time in ages recently and have been chatting with her again. She was sad to see HRP go. Said they had kinda bonded over things like "making bad choices with men" and "feeling like they always need to have a boyfriend."

OMG THIS EXPLAINS SO, SO MUCH!!!

Yep. Six months in. My overall impression is that, even though it sounds kinda crazy at first, it's really just not a big deal.

I pretty much always wear a company hat. So, I try to be careful and make sure I've got the right one on before a Teams call. Not that it would matter one bit or anyone would notice if I didn't. Other than that, having two jobs is exactly like having one job as far as I'm concerned.

Do you use the same laptop for each job? Any talk of returning to office at either job?

I've never known of anyone to literally wear the hats in the take-your-____-hat-off-and-put-your-____-hat-on analogy.

Separate laptops. Talk at old job has been about most people staying remote. If they told me to return to office, I'd say no and let the chips fall. I was hired as a remote employee at new job. Office is 100 minutes away.

RIP this thread.

Two months ago, I put together some materials for an ongoing project that D2 was getting started on. GG just asked me for those materials. Based on the way she asked, I'd say 0% chance that D2 is aware of it. Is GG staging a comeback!?!?
