HRP was pro continuing WFH. Yikes.

She was also driving the latest software change. So, maybe D2 took her down to once again magically save his own skin.

One week in "on the clock" at both jobs. As expected, potential for meeting conflicts seems like it is extremely limited.

I've learned that D1' and D2' have more in common with D1 and D2 than originally suspected. Both pairs have worked together for 10+ years and moved from one company to another as pairs. Also, both pairs consist of one member who is more management oriented and one who is more technically oriented.

Where they differ is competency. D1' and D2' are operating at a much higher level/larger scale. They are powered up versions of D1 and D2 in basically every way.

During new job virtual team meeting, D1' was at a standing desk and doing some pacing and some squeezing and bouncing of a rubber ball. This makes me hopeful that the rubber band thing was more ADHD than anger management.

Linkedin stalking soon to be coworkers. One lists his hobby jobs in addition to his regular jobs. These include geek pop culture podcasts and writing comic book reviews and commentary.

During team meeting, new boss said he and his wife were watching old MTV Real World on Hulu. He starts naming off people. He says "Judd" and the guy in the above quote chimes in, "he does comic books now!"

Do you have a time frame on how long you think you can pull off 2 jobs or do you plan on letting it ride until something comes up?

Europeans make fun of us for working too much and here is Chum just dumping more tea in the harbor screaming "You like that?!? Huh?!? I'm an American and I'm coming for your job next!"

I think it's Roy's way of telling her she's welcome here but not to get too comfortable.

is this the new company or the old company?

I had a boss who would ALWAYS spell my name wrong in the body of emails he copied me on. For like 5 years. (My email is [email protected])

Here's a super boring observation. As you might expect, switching between jobs is ultimately no different than switching tasks within the same job. NBD.

One unexpected thing I've discovered is that working two jobs absolutely makes me better at both. I learn new stuff for one job and then apply that knowledge to the other job. (Non-proprietary stuff, of course.)

WFH killed the content quality of this thread. On the bright side, old job is going to start having monthly mandatory in person company meetings followed by voluntary happy hour.

To spice this thread up we are going to make that a mandatory happy hour for you
