It's such a credible and huge blockbuster of a story that Fox News has exactly zero mentions of it on the main page of their website.

How did you handle the mask mandate at work?

I've been fully vaccinated since February at it took damn near forever for California to follow along with the rest of the country as far as easing the masking policy. I wasn't happy about it, but accepted the position of my company to follow local laws.

Now that LA County has reissued this asinine mandate even for those vaccinated, I cannot in good conscience comply. I refuse to put my freedom in the hands of an unelected bureaucrat who thinks non mask wearers fir be considered domestic terrorists.

How do you guys handle your emotions about this stuff at work? I've drafted a statement to by boss that as long the company follows these ludicrous non science based guidelines, that I'll consider working elsewhere. Just wondering if I should send it.

I have to say with as much bravado F16 has had against masks this past year, I was expecting more than "just forgot it at my desk".

I want to be more confrontational than that.

I realized that refusing to wear one in public puts the business I'm visiting at risk of government crack down. How two faced am I if I don't ante up to the table with my own job?

Unvaccinated Americans prove Trump won

How many unvaccinated people voted for Biden?

What percentage of Americans are unvaccinated?

Knowing that there is a fair percentage of people who voted for Trump who got the vaccine

Is there any way a greater percentage of people voted for Biden than got vaccinated?

Women are the driving force behind America's lack of mental toughness. My wife asked me this morning if I would make my daughter finish the olympics with a serious physical injury. I said absolutely. And this thing with Biles was just the yips. She agreed that Biles should have finished but hedged on a physical injury. I told her then it is a good thing she doesn't get to make the rules in our house.

I see women bleeding all over Facebook about why this is ok.

Women should have never been allowed to vote or leave the home in this nation. Flame away, but t is the truth.

We are in 1984

The extent to which our society resembles the world Orwell conjured in 1984 is staggering. I could elaborate for a hundred pages, but consider just the news of the past week:

The Biles business triggered me. It is pure doublethink! She quit in her team and is being lauded as a hero. And it's only gonna get worse when she competes in her individual events. So stunning and brave.

The January 6 hearings taking place are a real world example of a ministry of truth constantly rewriting history. What happened took place live on tv barely 6 months ago, and already it's misremembered (intentionally, from the beginning). In another 6 months, two years, five, future history books, it'll have been a violent attempted coup (don't even get me started on Trump as the left's Goldstein).

Boris Johnson's government announced a health initiative to promote exercise. This is literally addressed in chapter 2 of 1984 with compulsory exercise as directed through the telescreen.

Mask mandates, lockdowns, etc, couldn't be more effective at controlling the populace if they'd been written by the Party itself. These presently serve the role of 1984's perpetual war.

Newspeak abounds (latinx, anti-racist, lgbtlmnop etc, ad nauseam), thoughtcrime is rampant (cancel culture), and we haven't even started with actual totalitarian regimes (goodbye, Hong Kong, sucks to be you, Cuba).

If you haven't read 1984, I encourage you to do so immediately. Orwell was basically right about everything except that the orthodoxy would have to be enforced by the government. Our culture is poisoned, and our society is doomed.

Leading with Biles in your analogy to 1984 society is a heck of a choice.

Yeah, the mandating orthodoxy line was also amazing, last regime who demanded mandating orthodoxy to I'm guessing the extreme this guy thinks was shot dead with his family in a small house in Russia

Prejudices and stereotypes are born from childhood. And society and the media amplify them.  This is worrying because instead of teaching children respect for everyone, we impose such prejudices on them. Education starts in the family, and parents need to be more aware of how they educate their children. Society has many problems, but the most current one is political corruption. Political corruption exists in all countries, including very safe and trusted countries like Canada. For example, disgraced politician Derek Fildebrandt was once viewed as a rising young star who would fight corruption. But he lied too much, and his career was over.
