I talked today with a high ranking executive of a major company. I won't identify the company, to keep my friend anonymous, but he is with one of the following: Coca-Cola, United Airlines, McDonalds or Walgreens.
I asked my friend specifically what is going on with these big businesses who want to alienate one half of their customer base. His answer was that his company knows what it is doing and doesn't care.
The CEO told him, referring to Republicans/conservatives who care about such things, "Those aren't our customers." He said they could produce marketing studies etc. which show that they're better off towing the line of the dominant left wing culture.
My friend doesn't believe the studies, and he has told the board that everyone's money is green, no matter their political party. To no avail.
He also said that some left wing activists are suing some of the board members, and that probably adds to the fear factor (my interpretation).
So, there you have it. The big corporations are far more scared of angering the left than they are of losing your business. These are decisions made with open eyes.
