I keep cracking myself up thinking about the dramatic music playing in TexAg bro's head as he wages asymmetrical warfare on an unsuspecting outlet mall...

i was astounded to learn that up until like the late 70s, texas was a dem stronghold. i mean you look at the pervasive MAGA mindset and you would immediately think oh damn this is like...generations upon generations of passed down ideology

It is passed down. Read about the Southern Strategy. When republicans talk about democrats starting the KKK and being more racist than republicans, it's misleading at best.

yeah that was kind of my thought at first but i just meant like...in the 60s the majority of texans were voting for JFK and electing LBJ governor. I think for the most part the JFK democratic party is more closely aligned with today's democratic party than, for example, dixiecrats

They didn't turn until LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act.

I’m more laughing about the lumbering giant barely squeezing through the door to footlocker only to be turned away.

Abraham Simpson is quality.

Also should have taken a picture but last night I saw a sticker on a truck that read "eff Joe and the Hoe" spelled out in a font made of guns.

Interesting twist and counter to the understood multigenerational hate that all ProgFascists have for conservative women.

I have been banned from the Texas subreddit

I was just notified that I was banned from the /r/Texas subreddit for saying there is no evidence that mask mandates lead to a reduction in cases compared to regions that did not have a mandate.

That was literally it. The "mod" of /r/Texas even called me a troll for saying that in the ban message.

Reddit is a cancer on society. That is not hyperbole. It is literally a cancer on society considering how it infects the minds and hearts of vulnerable people and spreads to other vulnerable people.

and the problem is?

1. You can still read the subreddit
2. if you want to post, create a new account. it is simple and does not even require linking it to an email account or having any account validation.

problem solved quicker than posting about it.

You actually can't do this on most subs. I'd have to put work into a new account to post on /r/Texas again. And considering it's basically a communist sub it just isn't worthwhile. I'm more likely to spend my time spamming it with porn.

This is what set me off. They quoted me asking for evidence and then called me a troll in the ban notice.

I've calmed down a bit but I'm still annoyed since, you know, I'm a born and raised Texan banned from the Texas subreddit.

Kicked out of church

I was effectively kicked out of Mass this morning. Mask mandate was lifted Wednesday, but our California bishop has decreed that masks will be enforced regardless. I knew this going in, but was hoping that our rural parish, in a county with zero active cases in almost a month, would see this more as a guideline vs a rule. My wife and I were told, at communion, that we have to wear masks. This was followed by a text message from our deacon, who happens to be my Godfather, that ushers will be ordered to bar us from entry next week if we don't wear masks.

I am a devout Catholic, but I am beyond pissed. I understand that my Godfather has vowed to be obedient to the Bishop, but this farce has gone on long enough.

I informed our deacon that I go to Church for my spiritual health, and to a doctor for my physical health. I don't look to the Bishop of Ft Worth when I need medical treatment. And that I will not attend again until masks are gone.

It's been hard enough putting up with a Pope that is quasi Marxist, I will not tolerate a totalitarian Bishop. I plan to speak to the Bishop, or whatever underling that won't forward the call up, and express my sincere disappointment in the Vatican's decision to appoint Michael Olsen as Bishop of Ft Worth
