Besler doesn't start against Belgium, 4 goals conceded.
Coincidence? Belgium are pretty good though. World Cup dark horse if they don't eff up qualifying.
Geoff Cameron is no right back. There's really no place for him in the starting 11. Back line should be F. Johnson - Besler - Gonzo - Chandler.
I'm still iffy on the fullbacks what with Fabian Johnson possibly moving up to left mid and Chandler being a rough ridin' bitch that never plays with USMNT. I do know that I do not want Damarcus Beasley as a World Cup option at left back. He was fine against Mexico, but he is NOT a left back at all. He's a fast, left-footed soccer player who is attacking-minded and has sub-par defensive skills.
Gonzo did make stupid mistakes, but he is still getting experience at the international level. I think he should be a starting CB going forward for the coming years. He'll learn and get better. He has the talent and the body. Besler playing along-side him will help bail him out when he fucks up. (He's like the Aurelien Collin of USMNT).
What are your guys' thoughts on Bocanegra and Cherundolo? They both seem to be declining slightly (more Boca than Dolo), but they have so much experience and leadership, something that has been lacking on the backline (other than Beasley, who is not a defender in the first place so it doesn't count)
