Getting Germans isn't going to help us play "beautiful game" like you want. Honestly, few teams other than Brazil can really play it that style.

You don't think the fact that some USMNT players can't even speak English isn't even a little dumb?

Btw, I'll take that as a yes, you want Brooks.

(I do too.)

I don't think that's dumb, its a pretty accurate representation of our nation.

Fair enough. I don't know many people who only speak German, but I see your point. Spanish maybe.

Just because a team is good doesn't mean they play "the beautiful game," dumbass.

so you are telling me that every other country besides Brazil to ever play the game and win a world cup (which is pretty much every world cup) isn't playing "the beautiful game". gtfo of here with that nonsense. the netherlands play a form of soccer more complex than Brazil ever will. the italians play a defense that is all that and more in comparison to Brazil. Narrowing it to one style is idiotic. The current Spain squad, arguably the most dominant national side of all-time, has been playing better and more interesting soccer than the Brazilian side for the past decade.

You are the same type of people that think baseball was better before Jackie Robinson. I don't know why I'm even arguing this with you. Obviously you have no idea what the eff you're talking about when it comes to soccer.

I stopped giving a crap about using players from dual citizenship families when Eduardo(Brazilian) played for Croatia. He didn't even have a Croatian parent, unlike our German-Americans.

Well, he did lead the team in scoring (9 I think) in WCQs for South Africa. I think that was just the Hex but I could be wrong.

U.S. Under-20 national team head coach Tab Ramos told ESPN recently that [John Anthony] Brooks is leaning toward playing for the United States, and that he could play with the team at the Toulon Tournament later this month, an event that will serve as the U.S. team’s final tune-up match before the World Cup.

More German talent (as previously mentioned in this thread).

As Grant Wahl said on twitter today that the beauty of the Gold Cup is we can use it to cup tie some of these Mexican and German dual citizens to us.

I kinda came to the understanding that Jurgen was saying it was going to be basically all-MLS. :dunno:

Would also be nice if we could tie down guys like Brooks and Joe Corona (has he been tied?).

EDIT: Just looked. Corona is cap-tied.

Sorry Cap tie not Cup

nope, on the all MLS. Stu Holden has already been announced as a player coming on for the GC. It will be a B squad while the A squad keeps training and getting ready for qualifiers but I see him using bridge guys and contenders for the WC along with young dual citizens to join the 24 for that tournement.

Also from here on out the two winners of the Gold Cups leading up to Federation Cup play a one game playoff for the spot starting next (2017 FC) so for example if we win the 13 Gold Cup and the 15 Gold Cup we get an automatic in, but if we win this year Mexico wins 15 we have a one game playoff in 2016.

Roster for next round of WCQs:

Quote
GOALKEEPERS (6) : Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tally Hall (Houston Dynamo), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Tim Howard (Everton), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

DEFENDERS (8) : DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Michael Parkhurst (Augsburg)

MIDFIELDERS (10) : Michael Bradley (Roma), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Maurice Edu (Bursaspor), Stuart Holden (Bolton), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Brek Shea (Stoke City), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

FORWARDS (5) : Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Clint Dempsey (Tottenham Hotspur), Herculez Gomez (Santos), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders FC)

Besler and Zusi both with call-ups. Also Stu Holden, SIX goalkeepers, and it's interesting that Beasley is listed as a defender. Jurgen must want to keep him at left back.

Oh, and Jozy. He's pretty good.

Really hope the beasley play at defender is an 'Energy' type coaching move with hopes that someone competent at left back comes in and takes it away from him.
