As unimpressed as I was with MI, I have to wonder what's the deal with Russell? I want to believe he's better but there must be some reason he hardly ever played amirite? Kind of like I really really want to believe some miracle bench rider from last year will be able to be a good QB this year, but that's probably bullshit.

His defense was absolutely terrible. During the first exhibition game and first couple of games he was supposed to be the biggest surprise of the freshman class and he showed signs of it. His defense was just too bad for Frank to play him (honestly, it was a liability, he would either get beat on the dribble or foul reaching with his hands). The offensive skill is definitely there though.

Maybe this is way Frank started the "recruit on if they fit our system" rule. :dunno:

I'll feel really bad for whoever it is, but if it's Martavious, it will be good for our college basketball team that we cheer for sometimes on television and live, in person, in the stands at Bramlage Coliseum.

Russell never played because he wasn't good enough on defense. With Frank as our coach, if you can't play defense, then you won't really play at all.

interesting.  My thoughts:

1. Initial though is it's probably not true.
2. Seems like a crappier version of Shipman
3. Works out well for class balance if Irving is booted (please, please, please)
4. WTF on the Sutton speculation?   :confused:

Someone told me a while back that Frank had had it with Sutton.  I guess I confused Sutton tweets with Kellys tweet about being back in town on the 30th.

They have a new coach now though as their old coach moved on to Pitt St. May not have that connection anymore. :dunno:
