I don't know that FSU has a realistic view of where their program is in CFB's hierarchy. Stoops would have to be desperate to get back into it to take a job that far beneath OU at this point. Jimbo set a narrative that they don't financially support the program like they should, although some of that could've been him looking for an exit. With the Taggart buyout though, I don't imagine that the coach will have elite resources to compete with Clemson any time soon. Also, they suck.

Leach and Malzahn would be two top targets for me. Auburn would have to let Malzahn go, but they are delusional enough to do it.

Leech had a pretty crappy reputation among west TexAzz and SW Okie-Homer coaches even before the Co-Murderer of SMU football,
Craig James, stuck his criminal nose into TT football because his lazy son cried to DADDIE with DADDIE's ESPN Power

Funny how both Leech and Mala-Zone have as much trouble hanging onto Asst. Coaches as Pawn Rince, formerly of KSU and Howard.

During Gussie's first job in FBS, at Ark under Nutt, Gussie started the rebellion when Nutt controlled 1st year Asst. from 5A state Champ, Gussie and his 3 "Extrodinary 23 Star" players went to Ark. Gussie was always using back channel discontents to complain and undermine Nutt just as he did later to Chizik at Awe-Burn.

Gussie was given The Call from Gawd and knew more and better than the only Ark coach to take Ark to 2 SEC Championship games. (As a side note, when Saban left LSU, LSU asked Saban who would best the best replacement to hire --- Saban gave them one answer Houston Nutt. Nutt was the only coach to beat Saban at two different SEC schools.

When Gussie came back to Ark, to Ark St, he did the same things in Eastern Ark he had done to piss off the H.S coaches in Western Ark while he was with Razorbacks.
