The great news is that my oldest is 15 so she can be in charge

Holy crap, your gap is bigger than the one we have. Our oldest and youngest are 10 years apart. Our oldest informed us earlier this week that she wants to go to Iowa State so she doesn't move away and miss all of his games, concerts, and milestones  :curse:

Yeah, I'm fine with being an older parent....I got all the crap figured out after the first 3, this one will be a breeze.  My wife is quite a bit younger, so I look and feel younger.  I'm hoping for a boy, because adding a 5th female might be too much for me.

I'll be 45 when my youngest graduates. Of course my wife often talks about fostering/adopting again so who actually knows.

For the record, this was planned and not an oops.  You just never know if your OB's can still produce.  :ohno:

Welcome to my world, OK_Cat! We were gonna be empty nesters at 46 and 44 respectively. Then came No. 2 in 2020, and we’d already decided we would have another. Lil miss nicname came Dec 2, 2022. Watched the Dr p at hospital.

Now it’s empty nesters at like 60 and 58 lmfao!
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

What's the worst part about having a kid as an old guy?  Energy?  I feel like my patience will be much better with this one.

My patience is much worse with the young one but that's probably because he's a loud mouthed, back talking, rambunctious, heathen. The girls weren't any of that, well definitely loud, at 3 and 4.

We tried the baby in a magic merlin sleep suit last night.  That crap cracks me up.  Like Randy from a Christmas Story.

Baby girl came 2 weeks ago, 4 weeks early!  She is doing really well though, just trying to fatten her up.  So far second kid has been much easier, and she will be the last (wife had parts removed).  I will be 58 when she leaves the house so perfect time to retire (hopefully).

I'll be 55 when my nest is empty which I feel like is a good sweet spot. I think kk will be like 39 when his youngest departs the kk nest.

There is a very real chance I am a grandfather before 50.   I guess that will be my version of having kids when I’m semi old.

When my unborn kid graduates high school and I'm 60, I'll most definitely be a grandpa, also.  Marrying a younger woman really messed up my timeline
