My two oldest both have Fitbit charge 3 and they work great. Their first fitness watches were Garmins because they're a bit cheaper and didn't need charging, just a battery change once a year, but their mobile app for syncing was really really bad, not sure if it's better now or not.

Thanks. He really wants a "smart watch" and I'm not really there with it all yet. I'm also not interested in getting deep in to another ecosystem and trying to figure that crap out. I think my other kid has the charge 5, but he wants something different. I def want to stick within the fitbit or garmin eco systems before I pony up for Apple in a few years.

Any of your kids obsessed with Prime? Its a drink owned by one of those youtube dickheads. My kid and his friends are freaking lunatics about it. They talk about it all the time and just stare at the bottle when drinking it. Its been wearing off a bit lately now that it is easier to find. I told my kid that he needs to relax about it. I bought a case at Costco, if you can get it at Costco, it isn't that cool. Say what you will about those youtube assholes, their marketing schticks, work on kids. Its just a shitty sports drink.

I saw some FB post going around that moms were sharing about Prime.  Some kid had 2 in one day and ended up in the hospital which may not be related but the mom is pretty sure that's what did it.

So far, I've let my kid have it at home, but it stays here. He brought one to a game a couple weeks ago and they basically talked about it the whole time. Its so bizarre. Gatorade is way better. We limit all of this stuff anyway, so it really isn't a "health" issue. I just think its bonkers that kids are so crazy for this stuff. The weird part is, it tastes pretty terrible. I know these little shits secretly hate the taste of it.

For my kid it was Bang a year or so ago, then Prime but now he is lifting and he has moved to C4.

I assumed you are joking but maybe not because between games last weekend one of our 10U  players was drinking a rough ridin' Monster and I almost knocked it out of his hands when I saw it. I have never let my own kids have caffeine. Maybe I’m the prude though.

You can’t be serious that your kid has never had caffeine

Why?
Because pediatricians say it’s bad for kids development. I’m no doctor so I just take them at their word.

Damn, are you going to try to keep that rolling much past age 12?  Seems basically impossible once they go to middle school.

My oldest is 13 and probably averages 2 caffienated beverages a month. It's not that hard to limit.

Aren’t farm children supposed to be fully developed by like 10 or 12?

Our thing is we aren't intense about it if they are with friends or at a birthday or whatever.

"Oh I was over at so and so's and his Dad gave us a Dr. Pepper."
"Cool. I bet that was a treat."

We just don't keep around the house. Def don't buy Monsters or Bangs or whatev

Same, my kids don't drink soda. Mainly because I don't drink it. They have tasted some, but don't really like it. I will let them have a root beer or a sprite every once in a while, but they would rather have water, juice, milk.  I would never let them have an energy drink.
