impeachment is the constitutionally prescribed remedy for a president that is a criminal.

i think it's incredibly stupid that some dumbass lawyers decided that sitting presidents can't be prosecuted as criminals and also incredibly stupid that everyone else is going along with it. but as long as we are, impeachment is the only option available.

Given that it's a purely political matter at this point, I'd guess that first a long, drawn-out string of hearings followed THEN by impeachment would be quite damaging to Trump politically.

1. It can now quite easily be said that the Clinton Campaign and the DNC financed a Russian Disinformation campaign in the United States. Even Steele himself now believes he was a "victim" of a Russian disinformation campaign. The BS dossier was used a pretext to spy on a political campaign. This has yielded a fantastic return on investment for Russia. Feed the LibDerp Rubes a bunch of BS, let them run with it, destabilize the whole of the United States Government to the point the LibDerp Rubes want to change the constitution and impeach the President all the while propagating and expanding a far left political swing towards people like Bread Line Bernie and other socialists.

2. The special counsel showed that they would indict anybody for anything, and yet they kicked it right back to to the AG on the issue of obstruction. Translation, they didn't have anything.

3. What's still lost in all of this, this is still the first time a special counsel was appointed when it was not known if any crimes had even been committed and at best only anecdotal "evidence".

The Clinton Campaign paid for a dossier that even the creator now admits was a likely a total fabrication and purposeful Russian disinformation campaign. Information obtained from Russian sources under duress to provide false and misleading information. The Clinton Campaign with help from people like the late John McCain made sure that dossier got into the hands of the FBI. It's quite obvious that the dossier was one of the primary pieces of "evidence" used to obtain the FISA warrants.

Aiding and abetting a Russian operation against the 2016 Presidential Election and U.S. political process (won't even mention the $145 million in Russian cash that went to the fake Clinton Foundation).

Apparently you didn't read the NYT's article I posted.

The Inspector General is looking into FBI misconduct. Individuals in the DOJ have been referred to the Justice Department.

Steele testified in a lawsuit that he may have been the "victim" of Russian disinformation campaign . . . but was really, really, really super sure that he wasn't, him being an expert on such things and all.

I really dislike this rhetoric about "Russia attacking the US." That crap is wild.

I am all for investigating, but I don't have any faith that Trump ever sees any consequences. Very few people with any sort of power paid a price for Iran-Contra, the Iraq War, torture, NSA etc. so I just don't see why Trump is some uniquely terrible figure in this crowd or why he will ever get his comeuppance considering the precedent.

He is laughably corrupt and an obvious buffoon, but I don't see a case for him being anywhere near as bad as Bush yet. But now I guess Bush is cool because Obama likes him or something.
