I don't know really. He just rubs me as loving the camera time. His impact on the taskforce didn't seem to be very influential. Maybe that's an impossible feat though.

I don't hate the guy I just would hope for more from one top infection people.

I kinda think Fauci is better at telling presidents and Congress what they want to hear to advance his career than the actual science stuff. I could be wrong but I remember that 60 Minutes interview from like 2009 where he was predicting a pandemic like this and it's like wtf have you been doing all this time?

I don't think sidelining him now is the right move though

Thank God he does love the camera, he's the only person even adjacent to the administration who can be trusted to misinform the American public. The guy has been around since the AIDS crisis and this is really the only time in the last 35 years that he's on tv as much as he has been, I'm guessing that isn't coincidental.

As far as him getting stuff wrong early,I couldn't care less. Literally every single person who has spoken about this pandemic has been wrong multiple times. No matter how gloomy or rosy your outcome has been, this has flummoxed every expert in the world. Also I'm guessing at this point he is little more than a spokesman, I would be shocked, at his age, if he's getting highly involved in the science and research outside of being briefed. No one else at NIAID has the capital to publicly disagree with the president and keep their job.
