I always appreciate how #blueanongE just skips over some important stuff.
Boeing cannot deliver on what they were contracted to do . . . 6 years ago.
The current AF1 fleet is nearly 40 years old. Boeing hasn't built a net new 747 for 3 years. I believe the requirement is for a 4 engine jet. For those that are interested, for such a huge plane, AF1 is very fast, during 9-11 escorting, the F-16 escorts were guzzling gas trying to keep up.
As I mentioned (and the audience will note that when "experts say" affirms what hyperpartisan derp ass #blueanongE holds to be true, they are all over it like Weird Robert at a brats-burgers-dogs and bean salad tailgate) . . . one school of thought is that the 747-8 will be too expensive to modify and another school of thought (so this is the school of thought that #blueanongE will completely ignore, in case the intelligent audience viewing this blog needed to know) is that the plane will lessons Boeing's fixed cost contract losses and help them save at least a little credibility. Viewers of this blog will note that the words in italics are what discussing both sides of an issue looks like. You don't get a lot of that from #blueanongE.
Also, as mentioned, I've read in multiple places that the deal is not 100% done.
